Chapter 17: Falling apart!

About Nico I love him to death but in this story for the the first and next few chapters he is going to be a shameless flirt. Don't worry it's not permanent it's just needed for the development of my story.

Nico's POV:

It's been a few days, well maybe more than a few.... It's been a few weeks and things, non surprisingly, are still awkward between us and Percy's friends.

I don't see them often but when I do they automatically turn around, except for the one girl Percy's sister Hazel. She always hangs her head and walks past as fast as she can, but that's how shes been acting all the time, since the "incident" at least. His girlfriend, I guess, Sam is always with her and tries to get Hazel to turn away and walk with her, but she never does she just waves Sam off and keeps walking. That's just around me though, apparently in class they all act similar to the way they did before just more guarded. Before you ask no I'm not stalking them, either Piper, Annabeth, Grover, or Thalia has a class or two with them each day.

Percy's getting better though, slowly but still getting better. Every Wednesday and Sunday we go to the Hospital to see how he's doing and to give him our special Demigod medicines. Luckily we have'nt run into his family more than once or else things would be even worse between us. We talked to Chiron and he said with the amount of nectar and ambrosia he's had any day now he'll wake up or internally combust. Hopefully the first one.

As for my friends, half of them are messes the other half is fine. Surprisingly Thalia and Annabeth we're the two that were complete messes. Not that I could talk I mean I'm what most people categorize as a mess, I don't understand humans, I barely get any sleep and when I do I wake up in a cold sweat, I'm mildly obsessed with dead people, and I'm a huge flirt and honestly I don't know why. Everyone knows that I shamelessly flirt with Piper... A lot and To be honest I don't even like her that much! So no I can't judge Annabeth and Thalia, but they're falling apart. Thalia's been my best friend for ages, we just understand each other, well better than anyone else does, but I've never seen her act like this it's almost like she's feeling guilty. She always ducks her head whenever we pass Rachel, Jason, Sam, or Hazel, She barely ever talks, She barely ever sleeps, She barely eats anymore, and she's always trying to think of ways to help Percy and his family. It's the same with Annabeth I can tell she blames herself for what happened and that's bad for her health. Grover who's not quite a mess is getting there he's in denial basically. Me and Piper haven't really been that affected. I'm used to this, I'm a son of Hades this type of thing is'nt new to me, but Piper cries during war movies when this happens, so she's worrying me, but like I said I don't understand people I'm sure this is normal.

"Hey Nico what day is it?" Thalia questioned me since I was the only one in the the room right now.

"It's Sunday Thalia why?" She walked over to my bed and sat down silently.

"When are going to visit Percy? I want to see how he's doing." I rolled my eyes at her and answered her softly, which I can only do for Thalia.

"Thals I'm not sure if we can today" I braced myself for the explosion of anger or sadness,

"Oh" She answered simply. She hung her head and stood up slowly.

"Thalia," I grabbed her arm and pulled her down," I'm sure Annabeth has a plan to see him though." She had a small but obvious smile on her face as she sat back down.

"I'm just really worried," It's not like it wasn't obvious,"What if he doesn't get better and then what!" By the look on her face I knew she meant one of two things. Thalia had been through some tough family situations and right before she left her mother she lost her little brother, she knows what this can do to a family. Then there's the "prophecy" if he can't fulfill it who will.
