"Because, even though I've never experienced it, I do know for a fact that love is not as simple and sweet as a Ed Sheeran song. Love has more downs than it has ups. And as much as I like to hear about the ups from others, I always back away and fear all the downs"

- Katherine Evans Saat

Katherine did not leave her room for the rest of the day. She laid on the bed and scrolled through her phone. She could hear shuffling from outside the door but she ignored it. She wanted to be alone. She liked to be alone. What most people find strange is that a girl like her, who always seems to be ready to party, because of how she dressed, she was the perfect definition of a loner.

Her nature is something no one not even her own mother has come to understand. And she knows only her father knows how she truly is. Just like him. Not trusting anyone, no sharing secrets or emotions but yet, she was not like him. Because Adnan Saat was the most social person to exist in the whole of New York. He always is the life of the party. Whereas his daughter, she was shy and quite.

She checked the time and it was nine o'clock. She frowned, why was anyone not back? She thought to herself as she got out of bed. Her stomach made a loud noise indicating that she has not eaten anything since breakfast. She checked her appearance in the mirror throwing her hair in a bun and walked out barefoot. She glanced around in hope to find someone but no one was there. She sighed before lazily walking downstairs.

Kitchen was empty meaning she had to fix herself something to eat. She took out a non stick pan placing it on the stove and added a small amount of butter on it and grabbed an egg cracking it onto the pan. One thing Katherine had perfected was making a perfect looking fry egg. After the egg was made, she put a little more butter on the pan and placed two pieces of bread on it. Once everything was done she grabbed her food and a glass of orange juice walking into the living room. She stopped in her tracks when she saw Harry sitting there a bottle of whiskey on the table and a filled glass in his hands. Katherine contemplated her options before walking towards the couch in the centre. She placed her food onto the centre table grabbing the remote switching on the TV.

Harry was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the TV. He looked around the room when his eyes landed on Katherine who was skimming through the channels before stopping at a movie channel. He watched her silently as she grabbed the plates placing them on her lap before tearing a piece of bread with her hand making a morsel. Harry scrunched his nose in disgust.

"Eggs? Seriously?" He spoke looking at her.

She raised her brows.

"Hey, I was starving and who said that eggs are limited to breakfast only?" Harry shook his head watching her.

"Why aren't you using a fork?" He asked as she chewed. She looked at him swallowing before she spoke.

"Because, I like eating like this." Harry nodded his head. "That's how they eat in Middle East right?" He asked looking at her.
