Teddy got settled in and looked at the book Harry had given him. His mind was racing and he was excited to know his Dad had written this book for him. Just then a girl stuck her head into the compartment.

"Do you mind? Everywhere else is full," she said.

"Not at all," Teddy answered. "My name is Teddy."

"Hi Teddy. My name is Hannah."

She came in and sat across from Teddy. Just as she sat down someone came falling into the compartment followed by an older kid.

"Oh look. We found some more 'ittle first years to play with," the older kid said to someone behind him.

Teddy could feel himself getting angry. He gripped his book tightly and tried to let the anger go. Before he could stop it his hair turned flame red and orange. Everyone in the compartment jumped when they saw it changing.

"That kids a freak," the older kids shouted as they ran from Teddy. He turned and saw his reflection in the glass. His face had also turned red but his eyes were a golden amber color.

The kid that had fallen into the compartment looked up at him, "man that is cool! How'd you do that?"

Teddy helped him up and returned to his seat.

"I'm a metamorph," Teddy explained. "I can change my appearance when I want to but sometimes it changes with my emotions even if I don't want it to."

Hannah chimed in, "so you're probably a lousy liar huh?"

"If put on the spot I usually am yeah," he laughed.

"I'm sorry about that. My name is Seth."

"Hi Seth, I'm Hannah and that's Teddy."

Teddy talked to the others for a few minutes but kept looking at the book Harry gave him.

"Hey Teddy what's that book you're holding and keep looking down at?" Seth asked.

Teddy really didn't want to tell them. He had only just gotten it and it was all he really had of his dad. Hannah seemed to notice or maybe his emotions were making themselves known again because she said, "Teddy if you don't want to tell us you don't have to."

Teddy thought about what Harry said about this compartment and the history it held for his family and decided he would tell them part of it.

"My godfather gave me this book just before the train left the platform. My Dad wrote it to me when I was just a baby. Both of my parents are dead. I've been raised by my grandmother. "

"So you have no idea what's in it?" Hannah asked.

"No. I haven't even opened it yet... In all honesty I'm a little scared to open it. I don't really know much about my Dad. "

"That hair of yours is better than a mood ring Teddy," Seth said with a smile.

Teddy checked his reflection and sure enough his hair was now blueish gray but his eyes were still that golden amber color.

"If you want to read part of it Teddy we can leave you alone," Hannah offered.

Teddy looked at both of them and then thought about Harry telling him his Dad had sat in this very seat. He smiled and opened the book.
