Wisdom Found

Teddy stopped reading. He sat quietly for a while seemingly lost in his thoughts. Finally, he said, "I need to talk to Harry," and headed for the castle.

Seth and Hannah followed right behind him all the way back. Once they reached the entrance hall it occurred to Teddy that he had no idea how to find his godfather. They decided to go to the Great Hall since it would soon be lunch time and if they were lucky someone would be able to tell them how to find Harry.

The Hall was basically empty. There were a couple of students at one table playing wizards chess so Teddy headed to talk to them.

"Excuse me, but can you tell me where the Defense teacher's office is?"

They heard one mumble what sounded like 'first years,' but otherwise they were ignored. Teddy looked around to see if anyone else was there but saw no one.

"I need to find Harry," he said in frustration.

A tiny voice around his ankle said, "I can take you to him."

Teddy looked down to find a small house elf looking up at him.

"Thank you very much," Teddy replied. She took Teddy by the hand and pulled him toward the doors. She led them up stairs and down hallways until they were standing outside a heavy door. The house elf said she had to return to the kitchen and then was gone. Not sure of what to do now, Teddy knocked on the door.

Neville Longbottom opened the door and seemed surprised to find 3 first years in front of him. When he realized one was Teddy he told them to come inside.

"I'm glad you're here Teddy."

"Hey Nev... oh I mean Professor."

"Outside of class Neville is still fine Teddy. You've known me your entire life."

"This is Hannah and Seth."

"Hello. Welcome to Hogwarts. I'm Professor Longbottom. You'll have me for Herbology. "

They both said hello but nothing else.

"You're glad I'm here?"

"I was thinking about your Dad. In one of our first Defense classes with him he brought us to this very room to fight a bogart. I was scared to death but he convinced me I could do it. I've never forgotten that. "

Teddy had to smile listening to Neville talk about his dad. Neville told them about the Snape bogart and the stuffed vulture as well as other stories from their class with Professor Lupin.

Neville then suggested they head down to lunch. As they walked down Neville asked, "what were you needing when you came to the teachers lounge Teddy?"

"Oh, I was looking for Harry. A house elf took us there to find him. But I'm glad it was you we found. I had never heard those stories before."

As Teddy, Hannah and Seth ate their lunch they kept an eye out looking for Harry. Although Teddy enjoyed hearing Neville's stories about his dad he still had things he wanted to talk to Harry about.

Harry eventually came in for lunch accompanied by his wife. Teddy waited for them to eat and then approached his godfather.

"Harry, I really need to talk to you."

Harry turned to his wife and smiled a somewhat sad smile. He kissed her on the cheek and said he'd talk to her later.

"Let's go to my office to talk."

Then he led them up to his office and sat on his desk. "This used to be your dad's office. That was way before he knew your mom. There were all sorts of fascinating things in here then." He paused and looked at Teddy over his glasses. "Did you finish that section?"
