Teddy walked to the last compartment of the train and stepped inside followed closely by Harry. Harry closed the door behind him and pulled the shade down. As he looked around he laughed.
"Harry what's so funny? Weren't you just in your usual argument with grandmother? You're usually angry after."
"You're right Teddy. We were arguing about your dad. I've always wanted to tell you about him but she wouldn't allow it. But you going to school changes everything."
Harry sat down across from Teddy and smiled.
"I was laughing because I realized you chose the same compartment my friends and I first met in and always used."
He paused for a moment before he continued.
"Ironically you also chose the exact seat your father was in the first time I saw him."
"But he was a grown up," Teddy began but Harry cut him off with a upheld hand.
"This is also the compartment your dad took his first ride in the Express in and met his first true friend, my mom."
Teddy had known there were many connections his godfather had to his dad even though he had limited details. It felt odd to be hearing details that obviously had just occurred to Harry instead of him choosing his words carefully.
"We don't have much time. Look Teddy, one thing I need to stress to you is that what people record as history isn't always the truth. Sometimes it's an incomplete version of what happened. Sometimes, well sometimes what gets recorded is just wrong. "
Harry could tell Teddy didn't understand. He pulled out the book and handed it to Teddy.
"Your Dad wanted you to have this when you were old enough. He wrote most of it. From what I understand your Mom made an entry or two. I haven't read any of it."
Teddy took the book and felt an odd shiver flow from where the book was in his hand all the way up his arm.
"Your Dad was a powerful wizard, Teddy. He placed a spell on the book so that it would recognize you. Only your parents or myself were allowed to make entries and only someone of our family would be allowed to read it. "
"Wow! He could do that?"
"Yes he could Teddy," Harry said with a laugh. Harry's face became serious. "Teddy when you get to school you're going to hear all sorts of things."
