Chapter 16

Castiel stares at his phone impatiently. Where the hell is Charlie when he needs her? He tried calling and texting her, and she isn't answering either. Now who does he talk to? He doesn't have enough friends for this. Unless...

He opens tumblr and heads to his blocked profiles list. He really didn't want to talk to Smith and Wesson again. He'd finally decided that if he doesn't know who it is, he doesn't want to tell them anything, and definitely nothing that could be saved and traced back to him like a text. But he just needs to talk to someone. Hopefully, Smith and Wesson will answer.

marvelbutmostlyloki: Are you there?

Nothing.

Castiel fights back tears. Gabriel's homophobic, Aaron's sick, Charlie's not answering, and now he can't even get a hold of the random guy on tumblr? How could he suddenly lose all forms of contact like that?

But then...

smithnwesson: Oh thank god you unblocked me

smithnwesson: Are you okay

smithnwesson: What happened with Gabriel

smithnwesson: Talk to me

marvelbutmostlyloki: Well, for starters, Gabriel's homophobic.

smithnwesson: Oh no what happened

marvelbutmostlyloki: Just that he thinks he can "cure me." Spoiler alert: he can't.

smithnwesson: Man I'm so sorry

smithnwesson: I was really hoping he would be cool with it

marvelbutmostlyloki: Me too. Unfortunately, it seems we were both too optimistic.

smithnwesson: What about your dad?

marvelbutmostlyloki: Gabriel said he doesn't know. Hopefully he means he'll never know.

smithnwesson: I hope so

smithnwesson: This is so unfair

smithnwesson: You deserve better than them for a family

marvelbutmostlyloki: If only it were that easy.

smithnwesson: I hope Gabriel comes around soon

smithnwesson: Maybe he'll realize that bigotry isn't a good look and change his mind

marvelbutmostlyloki: I doubt it. He's very set in his ways. I think this is something I just have to live with.

smithnwesson: Just a few more months until Gabriel's at college tho right so you don't have to hang in there too long

marvelbutmostlyloki: A few months is still too many.

smithnwesson: But you'll have an escape soon at least

smithnwesson: I know it doesn't really solve anything but at least you know how long this will go on for

smithnwesson: And once high school is over you can go right back in the closet if you really want

smithnwesson: Or move up north or to California or something where people are more liberal

smithnwesson: But you'll be able to do something at least

marvelbutmostlyloki: I guess you're right.

smithnwesson: Whoops bell's ringing in a few second gtg

marvelbutmostlyloki: Bye.

marvelbutmostlyloki: And, for what little it's worth, I'm sorry I blocked you.

smithnwesson: At least you unblocked me afterwards. No harm, no foul. Just don't do it again and I'd think we're all set :)
