Hidden (Young Justice/Batman&Robin fanfic)

How are you happy?

'Robin B01' The zeta tube called out.

Right as I entered KF ran to me and whispered," Hey, I heard. Are you okay?"

"Um... Yeah?" I responded heading to the group. What was he talking about? Was there a reason for me to be upset?

'Batman 01' The zeta tube called.

"Team, gather up. I have a mission for you."

We all gathered up near the computer awaiting our mission. The past few days have been pretty boring, so in pretty sure we were all awaiting anxiously.

"The Joker had been seen kidnapping several children and bringing them to this area," He pointed to an area far off of Gotham," Your job is to find the Jokers hideout and retrieve the children. The Joker may no longer be there, but if you find his area we may be able to find a pattern in his locations." Yes, a real mission!

"What if he do encounter the Joker?" Kaldur spoke up.

"Then inform the league we don't want you kids getting hurt." Batman said leaving through the zeta beams. Of course he would sat inform the league. I mean I get his motives, but still. We're heroes, this is what we do. We are supposed to get hurt sometimes.

"We are here." M'gann said landing the bio-ship.

"Remember all we need is the kids." Kaldur called out as we exited. We walked into the building preparing for anything, but saw nothing. It was your everyday villain hideout, buy quieter.

"Maybe they are upstairs?" Kid Flash said.

"M'gann set up a mind link. Team spilt up." Kaldur ordered walking deeper into the building.

'Is everyone linked up?' M'gann asked.

'Yeah'

'Yes'

'Yup'

'Yes'

'I'll take the top floor.' I said running up the stairs. I finally reached the top floor. There was three different doors. Some were probably a trap, or a distraction.

'I found some kids, but I think there are more.' Artemis' said through the link.

'I found some too.' M'gann replied to her," Let's all meet back downstairs after we check the building.

'Okay.'

I opened to door farthest to the left, and saw something surprising. It was two kids, and their corpses were lying on the ground with their innards splattered across the room. It was a horrible sight, but it was expected from the Joker. I slowly walked up to the kids. Their limbs had been tied together, and you could see dried tear stains in their eyes.

'Um... I found something, but... Um... Never mind. I'll go look for more kids.'

'What did you find?' KF asked.

'Two corpses.' I said. They all stayed quiet. I guess it made sense. What would you say if you found two corpses that had been disturbed with like that.

I just continued with the next room. I turned the knob slowly expecting the worse, but the room was empty. I sighed walking out and continuing to the next room.

I continued to expect the worse as I quickly opened the door. There was one kid. His arms and legs were tied tighter, his eyes covered, and he had been gagged.

I quickly ran to him and removed the blind folds. Tears were flowing down his eyes, and he looked terrified.

"It's okay. I'm here to help you." I said taking away the rope tying his hands, and removing the gag.

'I found a kid.' I said through the mind link.

'Good, we can leave soon.'

"Where am I?" The little boy asked.

"It's okay. I'm going to get you home to your parents." This caused him to cry harder.

"The clown-the evil clown... He killed them!" He cried into my shoulder as I picked him up. This scene looked all too familiar. He looked exactly like I did when I lost them. The way his eyes held sorrow, and how he looke- I heard voices. Older voices. Probably some of the Jokers goon.

"I need you to stay quiet." I told the kid. He just continued to cry. How was I supposed to help him? If he didn't stay quiet he could end up being killed. Think Robin, think!

"It's going to get better. Maybe them dying will lead to something good. It's hard, but it will get better. Don't worry I'll make sure The Joker goes to Arkham for this."

"How do you know? What if you are lying?" He still cries, and I hear the voices coming closer.

"Um... Hey, you want to know a secret." He perked his head up and nodded slightly.

"I'll tell you, but you can't tell anyone."

"I promise." He says quietly.

"Well, my parents are dead too. I made sure the person who killed them is in prison, and he is now. I will do the same with the Joker." I told him. His eyes were wide, and the voices were right around the corner.

"Stay here. I'll be back." I whispered to him as I put him down. I quickly ran to the goons, and punched the first in the face. I kicked the second and punched him knocking him out. I was then hit and flew to the nearest wall. The first goon held me by the neck taking away my air supply. I quickly elbowed him, and he released me. I punched him once, then twice, and then knocked him out.

I ran to the little boy who was sitting near the wall. He looked a little better now.

I picked him and and began to go down the stairs.

"How are you happy?" The boy asked. The question hit me so suddenly I began to fall down the steps. I looked up concerned for the little boy who was in my hands when I fell. He was fine, and standing up.

"How are you happy?" He asked once again. I groaned slightly as I got up.

"Um... Well... I had some help." I told him while I got up. I picked him back and an continued down the stairs. The whole team was their.

"I got one." I said putting the boy down," I also saw two goons along the way."

"We've checked the whole building. I think we can leave now." Kid Flash stated. I looked at the group, we had found a total of eight kids.

"I'll tell Batman that we are done scoping the area." I said as the team suddenly went wide eyes.

"Robin behind you!" Artemis yelled. I quickly turned to see flames emerge from the steps.

"Get out, quickly!" Kaldur yelled. I pulled the little boy on to my shoulder and began running.

Fortunately we made it out on time before the building crashed down.

"Well someone really didn't want any thing to be left behind." Connor mumbled. I turned to see that M'gann was clinging on to him for support.

Well, at least we finally got a real mission...
