Loaded Gun

I've written this poem inspired by the song Pray (empty gun) by Bishop Briggs

Once the truth is exposed, you can't close that door
So if you want the bullet through your heart, be sure
Know what you're getting yourself into
Realise the damage you can do

Once the creases are caused
The paper cannot be unraveled, time cannot be paused
Once the wound is open, you are forced to deal with the outcome
And your life will be shrouded in a shadow, forever numb
To the love once there, or that still is
Because it's really hard to forgive

Do people ever really forget? Or do they just bottle up the facts and always live to regret

Asking what they didn't really want to know
The truth hurts, it always will, as it will show
All the things buried deep, hidden from the light
Because darkness masks all of our deceptive delights

So next time, don't face the gun unless you are prepared
As sometimes it's not always the best decision to have all your secrets aired
