I am five years old and I have just started kindergarten. It's usually fun, but the other boys make fun of me because I don't have a girlfriend. I don't understand what's so important about having a girlfriend. They tell me it's for holding hands and kissing. I don't want to hold the hand or kiss any of the girls at my school.
I tell Claire.
"How about I'll be your girlfriend?"
I think about holding her hand. Holding her hand is fine. "Alright, you can be my girlfriend."
