Part 28

*Justin’s POV*

“I can honestly say, a few weeks ago if you were to have told me this, I would have been upset, but I mean we did have sex and it was bound to happen. I just wish it would have been a little later. But I do believe we had a deal. Since you got pregnant, now we have to get married. That’s what we agreed too,” I said using this to my advantage and trying to make the best positive possible out of it.

Selena looked at me for a moment, deep in thought before she took a deep soothing breath. “Fine, but on two conditions.”

“And those are?” I asked listening closely to what she said because I would do just about anything to have her marry me.

“Number one, it has to be a small wedding, like as small as possible. I would prefer to just go to the court house but that may seem a little unreasonable to you so I’m willing to do a very, very small wedding. So small that it’s just us our immediate family maybe two or three friends, and maybe your grandparents, that’s all.”

“Number two?”

“Number two is we don’t tell anyone until I say it’s okay. I won’t take too long; I just need some time to get used to it. Do we have a deal?” she asked reaching her hand out for me to shake.

I sat there thinking about what she had asked. I guess number one wasn’t too unreasonable. I honestly didn’t want the biggest wedding either but that was pretty small. But relationships are about compromise. So I guess I could settle on that one, but number two was the one that got me.

“What if we tweak number two slightly? Are you open to compromise?” I asked trying to push the envelope as much as I could, hoping it wouldn’t bust and the deal would be off.

“How so?” she asked tilting her head.

“Two months of not telling anyone. That should be enough time. I just needed a set date so I won’t be wondering all the time. Does that seem fair?” I asked praying she would agree.

“Deal,” she said with a small smile on her face.

“Let’s seal this deal, shall we?” I asked moving my lips closer to hers, making her giggle.

We kissed for a moment before Selena pulled away slightly, “I love you, Jay.”

I smiled kissing her nose lightly, pulling her in my arms. “I love you.”

Before anyone could say anything else, we were cut off by my phone ringing.

“Hello?” I asked putting it up to my ear.

“Justin, we need you in the studio to listen through the new album,” Scooter said.

“Right now?” I sighed.

“We only have the studio for 2 hours. If we find something we need to fix than we can’t do it if we are sitting in my office,” he pointed out.

“Hold on,” I said covering the phone. “Hey baby, I have to go to the studio. Would you like to come? You get to hear the new album.”

She smiled and kissed my cheek. “I would love to.”

“Can Selena come?” I asked as I uncovered the phone.

“Will it get you to come?” he asked knowing how stubborn I am.

“Yes,” I smiled knowing I had already won this little battle.

“Then knock yourself out, but get here quickly will you?”

“We’re on our way. Bye Scoot,” I said with a laugh as I hung up.

*Selena’s POV*

“Justin, that was…wow. I don’t even really have words for how great that was. It was so much different than anything you’ve done before but it’s still you. It’s unique but not weird. Wow,” I said in shock.

“Really? It’s not too out there?” He asked nervously.

“Jay, I’ve known you long enough that if something was wrong, I wouldn’t lie to you,” I said kissing his lips to calm him.

“Hey babe, can I talk to you outside for a moment?” he asked catching me off guard.

I nodded and stood up following him outside.

“I just remembered we have to tell Scooter.”

“Tell him what?” I prompted.

“The baby and the engagement,” he said.

“Whoa, slow down there cowboy. Number one, I’m not that pregnant. I haven’t even gone to the doctors yet, why don’t we wait till at least then before we tell him that little piece of information. And as for the engagement, it literally just happened, we don’t even have a ring or anything. We need to talk about some more stuff before we tell anyone especially Scooter.”

“But how are we supposed to set anything up if Scooter doesn’t know. I can’t just ask for random days off for doctor’s appointments and stuff and not expect him to ask why,” Justin explained.

“Can’t we just have some time to get used to the idea before we tell him? We can make up excuses for the first few appointments, please?”

“Fine, but just for a little while because he will kill me if he finds out through the media,” Justin said looking at him phone.

“Oh also, what are you going to do about acting when you’re pregnant. I’m assuming you don’t want anyone to know,” he trailed off.

“Did you hear about me last time I was pregnant?” I asked raising an eyebrow.

“No…” he noted.

“Exactly, I just have to keep a low profile. No one will notice,” I said kissing his cheek before going back into the studio. “Can I hear it again?”

“Play it back one more time,” Justin laughed as the music began.
