Testing Fate

Part 13

*Selena's POV*

"Rise and shine," I heard a manly voice say.

I groaned and rolled over, shoving my face deep into my pillow not wanting to get to.

It wasn't until I got comfortable that I realized I was at my house, alone. There was no man in here when I went to bed.

Slowly, I lifted my head to see Justin opening up the curtains.

"What are you doing in here?!" I yelled as he nearly game me a heart attack. "How did you even get into my house? It was locked!"

"You really should move your key. Someone could break in," he said with a chuckle.

"You know I could call the cops for this. Breaking and entering is a big no-no," I scolded.

"Will I be forgiven if I made you breakfast?" He asked walking over to me with puppy eyes.

"Promise to never do it again?" I asked pointing my finger at him as she stepped closer.

He nodded taking my hands in his.

"Fine," I said giving in as he kiss my head.

After we ate the beautiful breakfast Justin had made, we decided it would be best if I got ready for the day seeing that today was going to be the day that we spent the day with our son for the first time alone.

"Justin," I said after a silence fell upon us, "I'm kind of nervous."

"About what?" he asked, slightly tilting his head to look at me.

"Well this can either end two ways and both are bad. We can all end up having a lot of fun which will hurt me because he's not with us or we can end up not having a good time at all which would hurt me again because he wouldn't like us and if we did have him then we would be bad parents or at least I would," I admired finally breathing after I said what I had been holding in for the past few days.

"Oh Sel," he said scooting his wooden chair next to mine hugging me from the side the bed he could. "First off, you would make a wonderful mother. Second, you should be happy if we have a good time because that means he enjoys being with us and that will allow us to spend more time with him. He'll ask to hang out with us more. Think of it like this. We get to be his parents for all the fun stuff while James and Leigh have to be his parents for when he gets in trouble so we are like the cool young parents and they are the strict mean ones. Who knows maybe one day when he's older he will be running away to our house when he gets mad at them. He will tell us everything going on in his life and tell them nothing. You just never know Selena. Everything happens for a reason."

I nodded knowing he was right before I kissed his cheek thanking him.

*Justin's POV*

"Can we go to the beach now?" Brayden asked after we had been playing at the park for a little while. I was honestly glad he asked to do something else because I was getting really bored of it.

"Yes!" Selena said excitedly clapping her hands together.

We all hopped into my Range Rover as I drove down to Malibu.

We all sang to some tune on the radio having a grand ole time before I pulled up next to the beach.

Before Selena and I were even out of the car Brayden was running off towards the water.

Luckily, it wasn't too busy so we could easily keep an eye on him. Also, there were no paparazzi which was an absolute miracle.

"Selena come play with me!" He yelled running around in the very shallow part of the water.

I saw a smile emerge onto her face as she pulled off her yellow sundress to reveal a white bikini.

I sat down in the sand watching the two of them laugh and splash each other, having the time of their lives.

"Are you gonna sit there all day and watch or are you going to join the fun?" Selena yelled raising an eyebrow at me causing me to laugh as I got up.

One I pulled my shirt off I joined them in the water before they began to team up as they walked slightly deeper into the water splashing me.

I covered my face to the best of my ability as I got closer to them before throwing Selena over my shoulder.

"Let me go!" she yelled hitting my back repeatedly.

"How about... No?" I laughed.

"What can I do to get down?" she asked trying to be all innocent.

"Well first you can apologize."

"I'm sorry Justin," she stated.

"And there is one more thing you have to do to make me let you go."

"Which is?"

"You have to kiss me," I said hoping she would agree.

She stayed quiet for a moment making me think maybe I had crossed the line too soon.

"Fine," she finally replied.

"Really?" I asked as I began to set her down.

Once her feet hit the wet sand she reached up on the tips of her toes brushing her lips across mine before taking off running towards the sand.

"Run Bray!" She yelled as she ran. I shook my head and laughed knowing I would have to get her back one way or another.

-

We had finished playing in the water and were were all drying off with some of the towels I kept in the back of my car when a little boy who was a little older than Brayden tapped the woman next to him before loudly saying, "why does that boy have no hair?"

Immediately, you could just see Brayden's face fall as tears began to surface in his eyes.

"Hey Bray why don't Selly and I take you for some ice cream before we take you home would you like that?" I asked trying to keep his mind off what had just happened.

He wiped his eyes and nodded before climbing into the car silently.
