Chapter 8
Okay, I think I get it," I said slowly. "What about my parents? Where are they?"
"They're dead... completely," he said.
"What?" I asked stupidly.
"They're dead. You know... 'cause I killed them," he said awkwardly.
"You killed my parents for real!?" I screamed.
"I got 99 smurfs but a smurf ain't one!" he mumbled.
What? How could he be joking right now?! "GO SMURF YOURSELF! I can't believe you actually killed them!"
"I'm sorry! It had to be done..." James said.
"Oh my God. Oh, God." I muttered as I took deep breaths, trying to calm down. "Okay. Okay. I'm not sure I want to piss you off," I stared at him warily. "I've been wanting to ask you this for a while now... Who the hell is that on the floor?" I looked at the person James had been leaning over when I came in.
He looked away, coughing and mumbled something.
"My what?" I asked, straining to hear.
"Your sister..."
I stiffened immediately. Being an older sister, I was extremely protective. "What is my thirteen year old sister doing here?" I hissed.
"She's in a coma," he blurted out.
"Say what?!" My little sister was in a coma? How did this happen?
"I don't know how it happened!" he said, as if answering my unspoken question. "I just found her like this! I had nothing to do with this, I swear!"
