Acids
- All acids behave in similar ways.
- They are defined as a source of HYDROGEN ions.
   -E.g. HCL = H+ + Cl-

Alkalis
- All alkalis behave in similar ways.
- They are defined as a source of HYDROXIDE ions.
   -E.g. NaOH = OH- + Na+
