Sander hid behind the wall of his parents' bedroom; the only way he could achieve his goal is if he waits for them to return downstairs.
He waits for what feels like hours but only was about 5 minutes until he heard Kat yell to Damien, "He can't hide forever, why don't we just join the others and wait?"
Damien rustled around for a few more seconds and responded, "I guess you're right."
Sander heard the enemies' footsteps slowly leave the second floor and he sighed with relief. He then quietly but quickly ran to his room where he found it trashed. Everything was turned over, some of his toys were smashed, and his clothes were scattered. The boy looked around his room in disbelief.
They want to find me this bad? Why?
Sander had no time to waste thinking about the why, he needed to focus on getting out.
I'm brave.
He crept up to the stair case and peered down it to see if they were guarding the bottom. To his surprised he couldn't see any of them anywhere. Sander quietly tip toed down the stairs being extremely cautious with each step. As he got closer to the first floor he began to hear the group's voices. He paused for a moment, wondering if he should just go back upstairs but he noticed the voices weren't getting closer, they were just in the next room.
Sander finally made it to the first floor and hid behind the wall next to the entrance of the living room.
"God dammit! I should've just drugged the bastard, and this wouldn't have happened!" Tiffany ranted while pacing.
"And I would still have a good pair of pants." Victor whined looking down at his pant leg which was burned up to his knee. Victor now had a severe burn up the side of his lower leg and was holding an ice pack up to it.
"Are we seriously just going to wait till he comes to us? That could take forever!" Skylar said to Tiffany.
"We don't have another choice, I honestly have no idea where that boy could've gone to. It's best we wait till he falls asleep in his hiding spot and wakes up, assuming it's a dream." Tiffany replied.
The group sighed and continued to get in their own separate conversations. Sander clenched his fists and took a sharp inhale. He proceeded down the right hallway to the study, staying very cautious.
Making his way into the study, the boy noticed papers on the table. Tiffany has been working in the study this weekend and he felt at this point it was no longer rude to look at her things without permission. On the paper on top it looked like a list for something.1.) Candles
2.) Chalk
3.) Satanic Bible
The list went on and he already knew what it was for. She really was planning this the whole time. He flipped through the pages, most were filled with drawings, statements, and numbers he didn't understand. One sheet caught his eye.
Sander Anderson
Age: 8
Weight: 50 lbs
Height: 49.5 inches
The sheet was filled with facts about himself. It went from his name to his day to day activities, to his last checkup. Sander felt a weight in his chest and a wave of nausea hit him making him stumble a bit. The betrayal was almost too much for him to handle. Over and over he wanted to believe this wasn't happening. That he loved Tiffany and she loved him. She would never do something like this...She couldn't...
But it was all real. Tiffany was not the person he thought she was. She didn't gain his trust to protect him but to kill him. And now he has to hurry before she succeeds.
