Sander picked up the house phone from the desk and began to type in 911. He paced as the phone rang getting more anxious as he waited longer. Each ring seemed louder than the last. It could've been his imagination but he swore he heard it echo.
Please hurry. They will find me soon..
Finally the other line picks up."911 what's your emergency?"
Sander whispers into the phone,
"Please help me. My babysitter is trying to kill me."
"I'm sorry sir could you repeat that I couldn't quite hear you.""Hurry! Please! She'll find me soon."
"Okay, okay, who's going to find you?"
"My babysitter. Tiffany Moo-"
Sander was cut off by a voice off in the distance.
"HEY SHUT UP! I hear something.""Are you there?" The 911 dispatcher asked through the phone.
"Help me. Please." Sander quietly begged into the phone.
Footsteps started to approach the study."Stay on the line so I can help you. Where are you?"
They were getting closer and closer. Sander's heart began to pound against his chest."I...I..." Sander began to stutter.
If he stayed in the room he would've been trapped for sure.
"I can't..." Sander dropped the phone and sprinted out the door."TIFFANY!! You were right! It's him!" Kat yelled as she locked eyes with Sander.
Sander gasped when he saw how close Kat was to the door. One more second in the room and he would've been cornered.
"Get over here!" Kat yelled while attempting to grab Sander's arm.Instead of her grabbing him she only scratched him with her long nails. He gave out a small yell out of pain but still ran the opposite direction of her. The only way away from her was a straight shot to the basement. He put no hesitation into opening the door and slamming it behind him. It was pitch black, but there was no time to feel around for his surroundings so he went as quickly as he could down the stairs. He made it down five stairs before tripping on the sixth and falling the rest of the way down.
Sander hit the cold basement floor and groaned in pain. The handle on the basement door turned and Sander panicked. Sander inched his way into the darkness, trying to get away as fast as he could.
The door slowly opened, almost teasingly, allowing a beam of light to slowly shine down the stairs. Luckily Sander crawled far enough that he was out of the lights way."So how do you want to scout him out now?" Kat asked Tiffany.
"He's terrified of the basement. So it wouldn't be long till he came out, but I'm tired of waiting . I say it's a free for all. Whoever finds the brat first, wins." Tiffany smirked.
Sander's eyes widened.
What am I gonna do?!
He could still hear them talking at the top of the stairs so he had a bit of time to hide. Sander stood up as fast as he could, wincing in pain from the fall. But his life was on the line, he needed to hurry.
Sander began to limp further into the darkness, not knowing what was down there.
