Hey guys! Welcome to The Force of Gravity! I just want to say, that the new character Alex (who was mentioned in the description) isn't just a random add on. I have a certain storyline that I want to follow and I needed to create an entirely new character that is not in the show to pull the story line off. So just a disclaimer, Incase you saw her name and you were like "who the heck is that." Anyway, enjoy chapter one!
After what felt like a two minute nap, Clarke wakes up and gets ready for her shift at the Hospital. She groans as she gets up and puts on her scrubs. Clarke grabs a scrunchie from her messy dresser and puts her long hair into a messy bun. She works reasonable hours at the hospital, but needs to be on call if needed. After putting on a small amount of makeup to cover up the bags under her eyes, Clarke looks at the clock.
"Shit!" Clarke yells as she runs into her kitchen and grabs a protein bar and her keys. It is five twenty and her shift starts in ten minutes. Clarke jumps in her car and starts to drive. After driving fifty miles an hour in a thirty mile an hour zone, Clarke makes it to work just in time. Clarke walks into the hospital while wiping her sweat away. As soon as she walks in, she is bombarded by her boss, assistant and nurses saying that they need to to do a check up on a patient.
"Okay, okay. What is the situation?" Clarke asks.
"Well, he is a local cop, and he was shot in the leg about a week ago. We just need you to do a checkup. Change his stitches and stuff like that." Clarke's assistant says.
"I know what a checkup is, Echo." Clarke scoffs.
"Yes, yes of course you do! I'm so sorry." Echo nervously states. Clarke loves how scared Echo is of Clarke.
"What's his name?"
"Right, yes his name. Bellamy Blake."
"Okay, thank you Echo. Can you get me a coffee when you can?" Clarke asks as she walks away.
"Will do. Good luck!"
"Kiss ass." Clarke whispers under her breath. Echo was perfectly lovely. Clarke doesn't know why she doesn't like her. Maybe, in another life, they don't get along. Clarke walks into the patients room and starts writing on her clipboard.
"Hello, Mr. Blake. My name is Dr. Griffin, and I will be your doctor for today-" Clarke is cut off by the sound of Bellamy's voice.
"You can call me Bellamy." Clarke looks up and she realizes that she hasn't even seen what he looks like. She was too busy filling out the form Echo gave her. He is absolutely gorgeous. He has a certain smirk that Clarke has never seen before. His brown hair covers his forehead and his brown eyes seem to stand out brighter than the sun. He has a great build and just by looking at him, Clarke can tell he is no less than 6 foot.
"W-what?" Clarke studders.
"You don't have to call me Mr. Blake."
"Okay, Bellamy, in that case, you can call me Clarke."
"Clarke. It's nice to meet you."
"Same here." Bellamy and Clarke stay and stay and look at each other for a little longer. Both are taking in how gorgeous the other one is.
"How old are you, Bellamy?"
"26"
"Who is your emergency contact?"
"My friend John Murphy."
"Oh, so no Wife or girlfriend?" Clarke asks.
"Is that a question on your clipboard?"
"What?"
"Is that a question you have to ask, or are you just asking?" Bellamy asks.
"No, no that's a mandatory question."
"Really? Show me." Bellamy smirks.
"I don't think that's necessary." Clarke gulps.
"Oh, I think it is." Clarke looks at Bellamy who has that special smirk on his face. She quickly turns the clipboard around.
"See? There it is," Clarke says, as she flips the clipboard back around.
"I didn't see-"
"Okay! Next question." Clarke goes through the list of questions she has to ask, and now she has to do the actual check up. Clarke slowly lifts the bottom of his hospital gown away from his thigh. She can feel Bellamy's eyes watching her. She takes off the bandage and grabs a kit that she uses to stitch people up.
"It looks a little infected." Clarke explains.
"Well that's not good."
"Were you changing the bandage daily or did you just change it today because you knew you had a doctors appointment?" Clarke sasses.
"Ah, you got me there, princess." Bellamy smirks. Bellamy calling Clarke princess sends a chill through Clarke's body.
"You probably shouldn't admit that to you're doctor."
"What can I say? I'm an honest man." Bellamy smirks, and Clarke laughs at Bellamy's statement.
"Okay well I'm going to get some bacitracin for that." Clarke says as she crosses the room to the drawers filled with all sorts of medical things. She pulls out the bacitracin and puts a little on her gloves and slowly touches the medication onto Bellamy's wound. Clarke locks eyes with Bellamy and it is obvious he is in pain.
"Sorry, it stings." Clarke apologizes.
"No it's fine." Bellamy says with his voice cracking.
"Cmon you don't have to act like Mr. Manly around me. I'm a doctor. I know it hurts like hell." Clarke says and Bellamy smirks. After the bacitracin sets in, Clarke changes Bellamy's stitches, and applies a new bandage.
"Okay. Now you have to change that daily. If you don't, it will get infected, and you will be seeing a lot more of me."
"Maybe I won't change them just for that reason." Bellamy smirks.
"Well, it won't be worth it when you get an infection and lose your leg." Clarke laughs.
"So serious, princess." Bellamy and Clarke both smile. Then Clarke's phone rings and Clarke looks down to see who it is.
"Sorry, its my landlord. I will be right outside if you need me." Clarke says, and Bellamy nods.
"Hey Atom, what's up?"
"Your rent is late for the 3rd time, Clarke."
"I know, I know. I'm so sorry, I'm just a little short on money right now and-" Clarke lowers her voice to a whisper. "I promise I will get it to you by the end of the week."
"We can't keep doing this Clarke."
"I know! And that's why I'm going to get it to you by the end of the week, and then I will-"
"No Clarke. I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to evict you."
"Evict me? Are you serious?!" Clarke looks around after she realized she pretty much shouted that she got evicted. Nobody has seemed to hear her.
"Sorry Clarke, but it's only fair." Atom states.
"Fair? I'll tell you what's NOT fair. Having to go to work five thirty in the morning to five thirty at night in order to pay cheap fucking rent that for some reason you can't afford. Then trying to reason with your landlord but he can't seem to grasp that sometimes people aren't as rich as they would seem to be. So why don't you come to me when you learn what's fair." Clarke takes a deep breath while trying to hold back tears.
"If you want to live in your apartment I need that rent check by the end of today."
"You know what? How about you shove that rent check up your ass instead." Clarke scoffs, "I don't wanna live in your precious apartment building. Go to hell." Clarke hangs up angrily and wipes away the tears that must have slipped out. After gathering herself, Clarke walks back into Bellamy's room.
"Sorry about that," Clarke sniffles, "Where were we?"
Bellamy looks at Clarke, having heard the entire conversation.
"You were, uh, telling me how I have to change my bandage everyday."
"Oh, yes right."
"Clarke, I heard your phone call."
Clarke looks at Bellamy who has concern in his eye.
"Okay, so? It doesn't have anything to do with you." Clarke yells, and instantly regrets it. "I'm sorry. That was mean. I shouldn't have said that."
"You can stay with me."
"What?" Clarke says confused.
"I have room in my house. Which sounds crazy considering how I have 6 other roommates."
"6 roommates?"
"Yeah, My sister Octavia, My friend Murphy, Harper, Raven, Monty and Alex."
"How the hell do you have room for one more?" Clarke asks.
"Well, Monty and Harper are married, so they share a room. But Murphy and Alex have been friends with me and Octavia since we were really little. We always talked about having a big house to live in when we grew up. And by the time we grew up, we had more friends and we all pooled our money together to buy the house. So there are 7 rooms."
"You seriously want me to live in your house?"
"It's the least I can do." Bellamy says.
"How so?"
"You kept me entertained, today. It takes a lot for someone to do that."
"Okay."
"What?" Bellamy asks.
"Yes, I want to live in your house."
"Really?"
"Of course. I have no where else to go. And plus, I can make sure you keep changing that bandage."
Bellamy and Clarke laugh, as they get to know each other a bit better.
