"You did a good job there, Jihoon." A head angel shook his hand. Jihoon smiled sadly.
"Thanks. I guess."
"Up for another human to be an imaginary friend for?" Jihoon waved his hand.
"Maybe later. Give me some free time first." The other angel clicked their tongue and shrugged.
"Your choice. Let us know when you're ready. At this rate, you could be upgraded. Aren't you glad you're immortal now? Age isn't a thing anymore. It's a gift, really."
"Sure, whatever." Jihoon retreated to his humble abode. It felt good to be back home. But he couldn't help but feel like a little bit of his soul was left back in that universe. With Soonyoung. But wasn't that like, years ago? He lost count of the years since...since at least 30 years ago. Maybe. Who knew.
It was so rewarding to be his imaginary friend. It was an experience he still thinks about, to this day. Usually he would forget his human perhaps 3 years after the encounter, but this one. This one he could somehow never forget about. He had been meaning to ask why for a while, but he never got around to it. It's a busy afterlife, being one of the 4 star angels.
Jihoon didn't know what it was about Soonyoung. Maybe it was his child-like spirit...or maybe it was adorable smile. Jihoon flopped onto a cloud and stared into the sky. The stars were visible tonight. He connect some as he pondered.
"I hope he hasn't forgotten me."
