I came home on Friday afternoon in a stubborn mood. Harmony had ditched me so that she could go for a sleepover with some cheerleaders so I was basically a loner for the weekend again. I slammed my car door and stomped up the driveway path and opened the front door.
I immediately headed to the kitchen and pulled out a Coca Cola from the fridge and took a few large gulps, letting the cold bubbles roll down my throat. I reached into my jeans pocket and pulled out a packet of skittles and started chomping through them happily. I brought my unhealthy snack into the living room and stopped dead.
“Oh my god, why are you in my house?!” I squealed when I saw Chase lounging on my sofa. He was changed into grey sweats, socks and a white vest which showed of his muscles. He looked up at me in horror. Our eyes were trained on one and other, both of us too scared to move.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” he gasped finally, scrambling backwards on the sofa. “Did you follow me home?”
Geez why would I follow him home? I wasn’t his little stalker like he seemed to presume.
“No, this is my house!” I argued. His jaw slackened.
“But this is Liam’s house,” he said quietly.
“Unfortunately, Liam’s my brother,” I scowled at him. “And you’re in my seat. Move.”
I came towards him and kicked his legs. He got to his feet exasperated and let me flop into the warm spot on the sofa. I ate my skittles nervously downing them. I ate when I was nervous and blurted out idiotic things.
He stood hesitantly staring at me, his eyes boring into mine. I pulled out an oreo chocolate bar and starting chomping my way through it. It was a mystery I wasn’t fat by the amount of sugar I ate.
“God, Scar! You’ve left your bloody bra in the bathroom!” I heard Liam stomp down the stairs and hold up a red lacy bra. My eyes bugged out and my cheeks turned a deep shade of maroon. I lunged for it and grabbed it off him quickly as he gave Chase a man hug. I hid it up the back of my top.
“I never thought you’d be the kind of girl to wear a lace bra,” Chase smirked cockily at me. I glowered.
My teeth were clenched and I pulled out my phone and typed a save-me message to Harmony before looking back to the TV. Vampire Diaries was on. This made my mood slightly better until Liam marched over and turned it off.
“Liam!” I shrieked. I was lucky Mum wasn’t home or she would be in here within seconds.
“We’re playing Fifa,” Liam said daringly.
“Can’t you play it in your room?” I grumbled bitterly.
“Nah,” Chase answered. I wasn’t asking him.
“Well then, I’ll whoop both your sorry asses,” I commented smugly. If they were going to take the TV off me, then they might as well let me play against them.
“Is that so?” Chase raised an eyebrow. I nodded firmly and for a moment I got lost in his cerculean blue eyes and forgot that Liam was standing right there. Then Chase broke the eye contact and sprawled onto the sofa, tossing me a controller.
As I said, I whooped both their asses. Harmony texted back that she was unavailable to come around soon after I hid in my room. I didn’t want to feel jealous but there was a little niggling part of me that felt it.
I blasted my music through the iPod dock as I pulled my knees to my chin. I was texting Harmony and she was babbling on about how Chase was so gorgeous and badass and that I should feel lucky that he was in my very own house. I felt anything but lucky.
