Lunch time the next day wasn’t as awkward. Lexi had agreed to spend one lunch time with them and was sitting on Chase’s lap. Calvin, Zee, Tristan and I were all in our own separate conversation though. Calvin had just moved to our school and was already hooking up with girls at break time.

“So who’re you going to prank first?” Tristan grinned, leaning forward in his seat. Calvin’s brown eyes zoomed around the room from person to person until they finally rested on someone. I swivelled my head to see that he was staring at the new principal standing in the middle of the canteen, talking to a lunch lady. “Him.”

“The principal? You could get expelled Cal,” I argued. It was such a dumb idea for something so juvenile. But I suppose it would be funny to watch.

“I never leave enough evidence to get caught. I have the best idea. Where’s the school’s swimming pool?” a mischievous grin spread across his face. My eyes widened.

“What’re you planning on doing?” I queried.

“Just going to make an entrance for myself. Hey, then we can get to pranking that Harmony girl for being a bitch,” he smiled.

I couldn’t argue with this. I would love nothing more than to see Harmony get something that she actually deserved. I watched the principal wearily for another moment. He was a tough one; I knew he handed out suspensions and expulsions like they were coupons. Calvin better be careful or he could be sent right back out of school as quickly as he had arrived.

*~*~*

I walked into school slightly late the next day with Lexi by my side. We had been to cheerleading practise the day before after school and there had been a few hiccups but Coach said I was getting a hang of it. As we entered the school’s corridors, it was eerily empty. I looked to the huge clock on the wall but it showed we still had ten minutes before first bell.

“Where is everybody?” I frowned, looking left and right. I stopped when I heard something in the distance. It was a yell or a laugh or something.

“Come on,” Lexi pulled my wrist after her towards the sound. That’s when I realise where we were going. The school’s swimming pool.

Sure enough when we got there, the whole school was crowded by the double doors, laughing and gawking at something. Lexi and I shoved our way through the crowd and walked inside even though nobody else was. Tristan, Chase, Zee, Liam and Calvin were leaning against one wall in fits of laughter. My eyes widened in horror.

The pool’s water was a lime green colour with red patches and the principal’s personal boat was floating in the water. I marched over to Tristan and shook his arm. “How the hell did you guys do this?” There was more laughter at this.

“How did you manage to get in here?” Lexi cocked her head from side to side. “I honestly don’t get it. Did you take piece by piece? It can’t get through those double doors – not in a million years!”

“That’s all part of the trick,” Calvin tapped the side of his nose. “I guess we should get out of here before-”

He didn’t get to finish his sentence as the principal’s outraged roar filled the room. He clamped his mouth shut and I buried my face in Tristan’s chest, too scared to turn around. No way was I getting dragged into this with the guys. Mum was going to kill Liam if he got in trouble over this. I couldn’t add to her worries by getting into trouble as well.

I looked up into Tristan’s eyes as he was trying to keep the smirk from his face as he saw my scared expression. His eyes drifted up to the principal’s shouting and snorted. I covered his mouth with my hand but even I couldn’t supress the giggle rising out of my mouth. Then, everyone burst out laughing.
