Photo above is of Lexi! :) She looks so mean in the photo but I swear she's nice in the story :)
Lexi held my arm tightly as we stood at the English classroom’s doorway. Mr Bradshaw had barely made contact with me until he came towards us with a frown. “Is something the matter girls?” His eyes fell on me and I saw his adams apple bob up and down nervously.
“Coach said we have to practise on the pitch because Scarlett’s becoming a cheerleader. It’s very important,” Lexi explained batting her eyelashes innocently.
“You’re becoming a cheerleader?” he stared at me for a long moment and I nodded silently, looking to my feet. I just wished that I remembered that night and how far we had went. I mean, I woke up in my bra and underpants and he was holding a condom. “Right. Er … have fun. Scarlett, could you come after school to get caught up?” I nodded again.
“Do I need to come?” Lexi asked.
“No!” Mr Bradshaw said a little too quickly and a little too loudly so that the class looked up. “Have fun.”
Lexi rolled her eyes and pulled me after her to the pitches. I smiled as I saw that we would be working at the end of the lacrosse pitch where Tristan and the boys were playing. I waved and he happily waved back. I had changed into a tight grey vest top and little red shorts and had my straightened hair pulled back into a ponytail.
She started to show me the first moves and I followed as best I could, stumbling a few times and sometimes I moved in the wrong direction but after half an hour of practising, I felt pretty confident that I was getting better. “Can we take a break, Lex?” We tumbled onto the grass and laughed.
“So, tell me. What’s the deal with your love triangle?” she asked casually, her brown hair spreading out behind her head.
We stared up at the white fluffy clouds in front of the pale blue sky. It was a pretty day with the sun high in the sky and beating down on our skin. “What d’you mean? There’s no love triangle there. I’m dating Tristan, that’s all.”
“But I thought you and Chase had something together?” Lexi frowned. “At least that’s what everyone’s saying – that you’re taming the bad boy. He actually turned down Nikki the other day. Totally unlike him.”
“Really?” I said slowly. “Well, you’ve got it all wrong. I’m not taming anyone. Chase is free to do whatever he wants; I certainly don’t own him or anything.”
“I’d just watch out if I were you Scarlett. Nikki was saying at cheerleading practise yesterday afternoon that she blames you and she wants to get her revenge and some of the other girls are going to help,” Lexi admitted nervously.
“Wow, they really are the real-life mean girls,” I murmured.
“Tell me about it,” Lexi sighed. “They stole a poor freshman’s moving image arts movie and destroyed it. That’s just cruel.”
“Oh crap!” I cried, sitting up to find that the team were heading off the pitch for a break and the guys were strolling over to us. “I need that guy to help with my movie after school.” Lexi nodded but was more concentrating on the boys.
They were covered in mud and wore tight red vest jerseys which definitely showed off their fit bodies and their toned biceps. All of their hair was messy and cute and they looked, to say the least, hot. I immediately sat up and a silly grin plastered my face. After all, I was a nerd at heart. I wasn’t used to this. Lexi was breathing heavily beside me.
Tristan flopped down next to me and Zee next to him whilst Chase flopped down next to Lexi and slung an arm around her. She looked to me for approval and I nodded encouragingly, turning to Tristan. We lay back down and he started to tickle me. I squealed and giggled. Zee had pulled out his phone and was texting crazily.
