(⏹️) [🔓Confused]
I sat down and Connor smiled at me. I returned the gesture and Niles gave me a confused look.
"Hey, where'd Gavin go?" He asked me. I looked back at the break room and pointed in that direction.
"He needs time to process something." I informed Niles, sipping on my coffee. I then turned to face Connor. "Where's Hank?" I asked calmly.
"He went to go check the evidence to see if we could've missed something." The brunette answered quickly. He held out his hand and tilted my head in confusion. I tried to understand why he was showing his palm. Scooted closer to him and put my chin in his palm, causing Connor to smile. "I wanted the coffee, but this is just as nice."
"Oh, sorry." I went to sit up straight but Connor kept me where I was, his hand lightly moving to my cheek as he stared. I slowly sat up and his hand followed, causing me to smile happily. "Here." I held out the coffee so he could take it using the other hand.
He took it lightly, letting his hand slowly fall before he took a sip. He hummed softly and drank some more, making me whine softly. My coffee... :(
"This is really good. You should make me one next time you go make yourself a coffee." He suggested. I nodded, I can't refuse Connor.
He handed me back the cup that was now a quarter of the way empty. Shrugging it off, I started to drink some and heard a gasp. I slowly lowered the cup and looked in the area the gasp came from and noticed another person who looked like Connor had been watching. I tilted my head in confusion. He looked a bit more put together than Connor, wearing a white button up, a bright blue vest, dress pants, a black tie, with his hair was curly and yet still contained (aside from the stray strand of hair that shall always stick out).
"Connor! You didn't tell me you had a girlfriend!" The lookalike yelled excitedly at Connor, who nervously turned his attention to the identical.
"H-Hey, Colton." He smiled nervously. Niles groaned and tried to hide. "What're you doing here?"
"I wanted to visit, what's wrong with wanting to see my baby brother shooting bad guys?" 'Colton' hurried over and grabbed my hand suddenly. He started to shake it and I smiled softly at him. "Hi, I'm Colton. I'm the oldest of my brothers." He was so energetic but adorable.
"I'm detective (Y/n), I work here with your brothers." I introduced myself. "And what do you mean oldest?"
"Well, if goes in order from oldest to youngest; Me, Connor and Colin, then Niles." He explained. I turned to Connor for an explanation, who just put his hands up in mock surrender.
"That's your own fault for not checking my siblings. Hank already knew when he scanned me." Connor smirked. I sighed and mentally tabbed it in my mind. I turned back to Colton.
"It's nice to meet you, Colton." I tried to be as nice as I could. Colton let out a happy laugh and hugged me, causing me to squeak.
"It's nice to finally meet one of my brother's girlfriends. I was starting to think he was making up all the others to make me go away." Colton released me from the hug and I raised an eyebrow. "So, how long have you two been dating?"
Niles suddenly bursted into laughter, holding his stomach slightly. Connor glared at his younger brother and turned back to Colton. He moved closer to me and I nervously began to look for my match, feeling for one in my pockets.
"Actually, we aren't dating. That would be seen as taboo." I muttered, stopping my search and settling with rubbing my hands together.
"What do you mean?" Colton looked confused. I looked at Connor as he came up behind me, looking like he wanted to hug me from behind.
"I mean, that would be considered taboo if we were dating." I pulled up my hand and let my synthetic skin fade to show the porcilien white underneath it. Colton gasped and smiled happily as I gave a sorrowful smile.
"But don't you love him? Love has no bounds and public opinion can't prevent it." Colton beamed. I sighed softly as Connor wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him. He rested his head on mine and I frowned.
"Of course, I know love has no bounds. But even though I was intentionally programmed to feel emotions, I can't help but feel like it's just a code forced into my memory. I can't be honest with myself or others completely and I don't want to be destroyed." I rambled nervously as I started to feel stressed. I noticed someone approaching and made out Hank's figure, causing my shaking to worsen. "I can't feel love." I sighed.
"Are you okay?" Colton asked, but I couldn't tell if he was talking to me or Connor.
"No." We both answered in unison.
"I have important business to attend to." I heard Niles say before Colton pulled both me and Connor into a hug. Connor whined about it but I stayed silent and listened.
I turned in Connor's hold and gave him a hug, wrapping my arms around his neck so that I could reach his hair. I rested my head against his chest and Colton pulled away from the hug. I sighed softly as I noticed Connor's stress had rised along with mine. I put my hands energy to ease by running them through Connor's locks again.
"It's time to clock out Connor." I told him, nuzzling his chest and shoulder gently. He hummed, acknowledging what I had said.
"I will clock you out online." Hank told Connor and went to the computers. I gently removed my hands from Connor's hair with a smile.
"So, did you shoot anyone today?" Colton asked Connor. He shook his head, causing a whine to come from the older sibling.
"Nope, instead I shot someone in order to protect everyone else." I proudly stated.
We started to head outside and Colton branched off, saying he would visit tomorrow morning. Hank said he had to go do things for Cyberlife, leaving me and Connor to drive back to the house. We headed to the car and Connor got in, I contemplated on whether to sit next to Connor or sit in the back where I can lay down and rest.
