Chapter 10

2 hours. That’s all I slept. Now it’s about 4:00 AM. I head out into the living room. I grab the remote and switch the TV on. Ugh. The news. I’m about to change the channel when something catches my eye. In the top left corner is a small banner. ‘ Up Next: Where is Harry?’ It reads. That can’t be for my Harry. He’s probably sleeping like a baby. I’ll wait anyway to watch the story. I wait only about 15 minutes until one of my worst nightmares comes true.

“One Direction, the popular British boy band, was rumored to be spending their vacation right here in Australia. Suspicions were confirmed as they showed up at the Westfield Mall for a signing. But now disaster has struck as youngest member, Harry Styles, has been reported missing by fellow band member Liam Payne.” I shut the TV off. My brain isn’t connected to my muscles as I get up and rush to Harry’s room. There he is, sleeping peacefully in his bed. Nope. His bed is made and empty. I head to Liam’s room. Nobody. I check all of the boy’s rooms. Nobody.  As I pass my room, I hear a ringing. My phone! I rush into my room to pick it up.

“Liam!” I yell holding the phone to my ear.

“Callie, we need your help. Harry’s gone!” He exclaims.

“I know!” I tell him and the tears well up in my eyes at the thought of him gone. Because I love him. I love him and I hate him. I’m going crazy.

“Well just go out and look for him, call him, whatever we need to find him.” He says and I hang up.  There are cars in the garage of this place that have never been used. I quickly choose the most stylish one (A red Ferrari) and head out. A single tear escapes my eye and trickles down my face. I get out onto the main road and am completely struck by everything. Girls. Everywhere. With shirts that have Harry’s face on them. Some are handing out pictures of Harry to strangers and some are in little groups. Almost all are crying. I roll down my window.

“If you see this boy please tell him to come back.”

“HARRY?”

“Where is he?”

“Where did he go?” I pull the car into a parking space and open the door. This is the first time I realize what I’m wearing. Sometime last night I changed into pink athletic shorts and a ‘NO! Jimmy protested’ shirt. Management packs the weirdest clothes. I go up to the first girl I see. A blonde wearing a Harry shirt who’s handing out flyers. She looks at me and recognition crosses her face. I don’t wait for her to say anything. I hug her.

“We’ll find him.” I tell her. More and more girls abandon their posts and join us.

“We’ll find him!” We chant together. Nobody asks me to sign anything. Nobody asks for pictures. That’s the best thing about the One Direction fanbase. They are amazing. When something is wrong they protect their boys.

“CALLIE!” The voice is definitely Zayn’s

“Thank you.” I tell the girls and wiggle out towards him. He’s against the wall wearing jeans and a grey hoodie.

“I don’t have a car, now let’s go.” He says starting off towards my car. He gets in the driver’s seat. Where would Harry go?

“That little bistro thingy!” I cry out. Zayn gives me an odd look. “Where me and Harry had our first date in Australia! He said he never wanted to leave! You guys had to come and drag him out to your car!” Zayn smiles and turns around. We’re silent until we pull into the parking space. Sure enough, the silver car sparkles in the sunlight. Harry’s here.
