After we finally take off, the plane ride seems to take forever. I try not to think about Harry, but I can't help it. After a while, Louis complains about being stuck in the middle and moves to the window seat, leaving me next to Niall.
"So" Niall starts, leaning over to me. "what's up?"
"I just want to land." I complain. He smiles.
"Only about half an hour more, Cal." Liam tells me looking up from his phone. I nod.
"Callie, are you alright?" Niall asks.
"I'm alright Niall." I assure him.
"Alright, no more rubbish. Tell papa Niall what's wrong."
"I can't stand Harry." I huff under my breath. He smiles. "Do you know too?!"
"I'm heping him with something." Niall says.
"Didn't I already tell you," Louis cuts in, "that I know everything!"
"Yes, I know, Lou." I smile.
"If you ever need anyone to talk too, again, you can talk to me." Niall tells me.
"We're just taking a break, Niall. It's okay. We needed time apart."
"You sure?" Niall's brow creases in concern.
"I'm positive." I tell him. He's so sweet. So concerned for me. I feel a flutter in my chest as I look at him. His deep blue eyes dig into mine and the smile fades off of his face.
"I can't like you." He whispers. "Your Harry's."
"I know."
"He's so lucky."
"We're gonna land soon." Liam tells us. I put away my phone. Niall smiles at me one more time and I lean back in my seat. The landing is smooth and before I know it, we're through customs and out onto the streets of Venice. They wind all over as we head to our taxi stop. Zayn helps Alyssa into the taxi and I feel a pang of regret. I watch Harry duck into the car and I get in after Niall. We arrive at a huge hotel on the water and head inside. The marble floor reflects the huge crystal chandeliers that hang from the ceiling.
"This is crazy." I whisper to myself. I wish I had someone to whisper to.
"Come on, Cal." Niall says walking next to me. "Let's change. We can go for a walk. I'm in 130."
"Okay." I nod. Harry silently hands me the key to my room. I charge down the hall marked 100-150 and stop at 127. I slide the key into the slot and it beeps green. I enter and throw my stuff on the huge bed. The room is gorgeous. the red curtains lead out onto a tiny patio that overlooks the channels of water. There's a large wardrobe and a chest of drawers. I open my suitcase and change into skinny jeans and a new sweatshirt.
A sweatshirt that I bought with Harry.
I head down the hall to 130 and knock on the door.
"You look awesome." He says. I giggle. He's wearing shorts and a sweatshirt.
"You are going to freeze." I tell him as we take off down the hallway. He just smiles and stuffs his hands in his pockets.
"What are we gonna do tonight?" I ask.
"I don't know." Niall says. "I have pretty bad jet lag."
"Me too." I agree.
"But for now," He starts, "we can just chill out in the city." I smile.
"Okay." I agree. We start walking.
"Look." He points to an old building. "We have to head through there. Then we'll be at Plazo San Marco."
"Cool." I say following him through a tunnel. When we exit on the other side I'm amazed.
"Niall, this is great!" I tell him. But what I'm really thinking is how romantic this is. Except my boyfriend isn't here. I'm not even sure I have a boyfriend.
