Their journey through the dry and deadly desert was hard, to say the least. They had stopped galloping a while ago, leaving the horses to conserve the very little water that was left in their system. Additionally, the heat was not helping, it actually made it worse.

Especially since Charcoal was a black stallion. The best horse of the Order according to Andrés. He reassured her that he would not be weakened by the harsh conditions mother nature was imposing on them. But (Y/N) didn't want to risk it. She cared too much for her horse.

She released a low breath as she looked behind them, gazing upon the setting sun as their animals left their horse trails on the summit of the dunes. She didn't know what had happened, and frankly, she didn't know what will happen either. Her mind didn't know what to think about the situation.

But, as many situations before, she didn't dwell on it. Her thoughts were already elsewhere. About Richard for example. She didn't know how to feel about him. He was mysterious, smart and charming.

Theories about him ran through her head as her body rocked from side to side as her horse trotted on the warm and soft ground. Their surroundings were silent, dead.

The low breathing of the harras and the sand, crumbling past each others' grains as the steps changed the landscape every so slightly. Until a sandstorm would form and their tracks would disappear forever as if they were never there.

"It's over there," Andrés pointed to a small rundown house at the bottom of a dune away from the one they were currently on.

"Thank god, I was worried about Charcoal," The girl sighed. They chuckled softly, continuing cautiously down the dune before trotting towards it. The horses neighed happily as they sensed an old well that was filled with water.

(Y/N) instantly dismounted her horse and let him raced towards it. The others followed suit, walking under the small roof to stay away from the deadly sun rays.

"How long before they get here?" Gabriela dared, knowing that her status couldn't really question the ones above her.

"They should be here already," Andrés answered, which, took everyone off guard.

He had always been a nice man, generous for his status, but he had a lot of respect for each class and would always put back people in their place. Which was one of the many differences between (Y/N) and himself. But yet, he let this one go. Lucas grumbled under his breath as he scanned around.

The sun had set a while ago. It was completely quiet, no sound, no life, nothing. The moon was shining onto the numerous sand dunes, which only reflected minute light rays.

(Y/N) was starting to fall asleep, exhausted by the long trip and the damning heat. However, her eyes shot open at the sound of horseshoes.
Andrés stood up, walking cautiously towards whatever or whoever that was. A few people were on horses, lanterns in hand.

"Who's that?" She whispered to Lucas as the movement of light shone softly on a few features of their faces.

"I think that's them," He answered, standing up behind his leader whilst making sure the girl stayed hidden, just in case.

"Andrés De La Vega?" A vaguely familiar voice asked. Lucas stood down, nodding for the girl to come out. It was the ally that had sent the message.

"We didn't want to move in the daylight," He clarified. "We heard about the explosion. For everything you have done for us, we offer you a temporary residence until you get back on your feet,"

"Thank you," They responded.

"Come," The ally, whose name (Y/N) still hadn't grasp stated. They mounted their horses and left the small well.

None of them really knew how long the road was going to be, but they had a feeling that their adventure had yet to begin

"I lost them after the dune," Jason explained as they raced along the sand.

"We might be able to find them before the sandstorm starts," Bruce explained, tracing the very faint horse tracks with his fingers.

"Let's hurry then, we can not afford to get lost in this desert, especially when the sun will rise," Richard explained, scanning the obscure land around them in hopes to see something, anything really.

The youngest set off along the tracks, making sure they would not divert in another direction as his family followed behind.

"Don't fall behind," Damian growled as he glanced back at the horses catching up to him.

"Granted, it is not as luxurious as you are used to but I hope it will do," The man gestured to the spacious room with a small, natural fountain in the middle. The floor was not made of marble, but of stone. It had a nicer, older look to it, which (Y/N) enjoyed more than Andrés' mansion.

"It will, thank you so much for your kindness," She smiled sweetly at him.

"It would be the natural thing to do for the Order. We have fought at each other's side for centuries, and we do not plan on stopping any time soon," He nodded, walking out of the room.

The girl meandered to the window, staring at the dead scenery below, inert by the lack of life, cold and distant from the obscurity that was still reigning over it. This place was foreign to her, just on the outskirts of the dry and deadly desert.

Here, there were some signs of vegetation. She was sure that she would encounter a forest if she would explore more of this land. Her adventurous nature was not compatible with what was demanded of her from Andrés. She wanted to travel, be exposed to others demeanour and cultures.

(Y/N) wasn't fit for ruling over a company, staying at a single place. All she wanted was adrenaline, the rush of action and fighting. She adored fighting and practising her martial art skills.

"How are you feeling?" A voice asked her. She turned around slowly, gazing upon Lucas' leaning figure against the doorless frame.

"I'll be fine," She muttered.

"You should get some rest, we're going to investigate the cause of the explosion and bring these people to justice." He declared.
