"Um, am I supposed to know who you are?" She asked, pushing the book into her chest as she leaned over the table to stare at the man, eyes filled with amusement.

"Well, no," 'Jason' smirked.

"If you're in a library, you should know that it's impolite to interrupt someone when they are in the middle of their book," She fake smiled.

"Well you didn't start your book did you?" He smirked with the same level of sassiness.

"Well I would but someone is stopping me to do so isn't he?" She sneered lowly.
"Because I'm too handsome for you?" He smirked, his tone changing completely.

"What? No!" She scoffed, standing up and walking towards the old man she locked eyes with at the entrance of the library.

"How much to buy the book?"

The old man sighed, gazing at her with an unreadable expression,

"25," He breathed out.

"25? for a book?" She asked in shock.

"Yes, it's not normally for sale." He nodded with a frown. An old woman that must have been around her age walked out of a small room behind the man and scanned the situation.

"Deje que ella obtenga el libro, nadie está interesado en él, pida 10 monedas, ni más ni menos." The woman spoke. The old man rolled his eyes as the girl's grin widen.

"Fine, 10 coins"

"Thank you, sir, and ma'am," She smiled to the woman, bowing slightly in gratitude before placing said money in the man's calloused and dry hands, before picking the book up and walking out.

Her eyebrows furrowed as she scanned the place she was previously sitting for the unusual man that had talked to her.

Only, he wasn't there. The table was completely clean and free of any merchant. It was as if no one was ever there. She shook off the unusual feeling in her gut and walked back to the man that was taking care of her horse.

She offered him a small smile as he dug out the dirt from under Charcoal's hooves and walked towards a tree behind the shop and setting herself against it. The location of the workshop was perfect for her, it was in the middle of the small village, but one side faced the vast scenery around it.

The tree shielded her fully from the sun and the slight hill around the tree's roots made her sense a light breeze. She sighed in content, smelling the mix of grass and dry sand before opening her book and finally starting the book she had waited too long to read.

She only hoped that this book would give her the information she needed to answer her question.

The small herd galloped through the desert.
