(Brianna's POV)

Today is day two of life without my friend. The entire population of Silver City gets to mourn, but not me. And not Blaze.

For any readers who ignored the warning to read book 1 first, my name is Brianna Lovelace. I'm 16 years old. Yeah that's right, I'm 16 not 15. My birthday was back when the Meta Alliance first surfaced. It was a stressful time, so I just had a small celebration with my adoptive parents. When I'm not trying to survive high school. I'm typically off fighting supervillains.

That's right folks! I'm a freaking superhero. And our winner is any reader who already knew that! You can have the prize behind door number three! And your prize is the fabulous satisfaction of winning. Why not an all expenses paid trip to Hawaii? Money doesn't grow on trees, and if I had the money to hand out free vacations, I'd be on vacation right now.

Anyways, my power is superspeed. You might be wondering if I'm faster than a speeding bullet, well I'm most definitely am. In fact, I can run faster than the speed of sound. The only way a bullet would be faster than me would be if that bullet could travel light speeds. Then there wouldn't be a single speedster alive that could out run that bullet, but I'm getting off topic. My superhero name is Shooting Star, but most people call me Star for short.

Right now, I'm out patrolling the streets of Silver City with the one hero who annoyed Aurelia even more than her own nemesis. Without Aurelia, I've had no choice but to go on patrols with Blaze.

Blaze is a redheaded fire super, who tells terrible puns, is tempermental, and is very impulsive. She is the daughter of the highly esteemed retired hero Crystal Flame. Her real name is Krysta, a name that Aurelia used to call her by when she wanted to spite Blaze.

"This is boring." Blaze complains as we walk down a dark alleyway.

"You're bored? At least you're not the one forced to walk. I could've patrolled every street in this city 50 times by now." I reply.

"Then why don't you?" Blaze mutters.

"Because the SIRA, wants us to team up. The loss of Butterflygirl has already caused a rise in crime. And with fewer heroes, villains come flocking to our city."

"There's a break in happening at the Silver City Art Museum." Alesea spontaneously orders over my comm. "Security guards reported seeing a figure in green spandex heading towards their famous artists collection."

Without giving Blaze an explanation of the the situation, I grab her by the arm and race to the Art Museum. There is only one supervillain in this entire city with a fashion sense bad enough to wear green spandex. His name rhymes with quiet, but he is anything but that.

When I arrive at the Art Museum 3 seconds later, I find Riot in the famous artists collection. He has a green can of spray paint in hand and is eagerly defacing a Rembrandt painting. And that wasn't the only painting that had been defaced. The Scream by Edvard Munch, now featured a crowd of stick person fangirls squealing Riot's name. Every Frieda Karlow portrait painted now featured Salvador Dali's mustache. Van Gogh's Starry Night not featured a swear word shaped constellation. Even Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa, hadn't been spared. Mona Lisa was now winking and holding up her middle finger.

"You must be dumber than a box of rocks." I scolded Riot.

"I think I've met smarter boxes of rocks." Blaze chimes in.

Without saying a single word, Riot turns and begins to spray paint 'Riot waz here' on the front of Blaze's supersuit.

"You're toast." Blaze shouts angrily as she ignites her fists into flame.
