Wow, has it been awhile! Hopefully y'all can still catch back up after the long break... Love ya, bye!

Taehyung woke up feeling both well rested and exhausted. His body ached, and from head to tail he felt as though his skin was burning. He groaned in pain, hoping Jimin would come to aid him, but then remembered that Jimin was not there. No one was there. He was alone and pain and needed someone to pull him back into the ocean.

The sunrise told him it was early morning, so neither Jungkook nor the tide would find him soon. Groggy and discomforted, Taehyung was reluctant to start the long journey to the low tides. He cursed at himself like a sailor as he pulled his heavy tail inch by inch across the sand.

After what seemed like hours (realistically 20 minutes), Taehyung finally touched the cool morning waters. He dragged himself in farther and farther, finding relief from his cranky state as soon as he was fully submerged. He giggled slightly and brought his hands to his neck, gills tickling and they started to breathe again.

He hummed as the fresh taste of salt entered his mouth. He shivered as the ocean once again hugged him. All was blissful, until... 'gurgle, gurgle.' Taehyung's eyes widened as his tummy yelled at him.

He hadn't eaten since yesterday at midday. Frantically, he searched for a shoal of fish. The mer found a group of tiny silver fish darting through the waves and tried his best to catch one. His hunt wasn't successful, because (a) he was in relatively shallow waters and (b) Taehyung was terrible at catching fish.

They slipped through his hands or nipped at his skin to save their friends. Utterly annoyed, Taehyung did the only thing he ought to do in this situation: he stuck his tongue out at the fishes. When they made no response, he scoffed and turned away to find easier targets.

Eventually, Tae noticed two crabs fighting over a spot on a rock above the water: the perfect opportunity. The distracted crabs never noticed the shadow growing behind them and met their fate when two hands pounced on them out of nowhere!

I win! I win! Taehyung sang in his head. He leaned against the rock the crabs had been on, ripping off legs and claws to eat the meat out of.

He was so delighted and distracted by thoughts of yesterday and the feeling of the sun on his face that he almost forgot Jungkook's promise! Kookie had promised him a whole day, a whole 'nother day to spend with a human!

He sang out his excitement as he realized he needed to tidy up. After all, Taehyung's appearance was a mess after sleeping in the sand last night. He dunked his hair underwater and combed his fingers through the best he could, then went looking for seaweed strands. These he braided into his hair like a flower crown. Perched on a rock as he did so, the mer looked just as anyone would imagine such a wondrous creature.

The seaweed complimented his dirty blonde hair quite nicely, not that Jungkook would or could notice. Poor Jungkook, that clueless handsome boy. He'll never see my blushing cheeks, my flirtatious eyes, my flustered smile. Then again, I guess that's a good thing. Tae sighed as he thought this, gazing at the waves which brushed past the end of his tail.

"Oh Hyungiieee! You here yet?" Taehyung glanced towards a grinning Jungkook, gasping like yesterday. The boy was completely different today., and Tae liked it.

Kookie had on shorts instead of the long, baggy pants he'd always worn. His hair was swooshed to the side like a wave, most unlike the usual gorgeous mess that covered his eyes. He carried a long pole with him instead of waving his arms about.

"H-hi," was all Taehyung could manage. When he said this, the landboy turned his face in Tae's general direction. He came to stand at the water's edge.
