Chapter 11

Jin was doing flips. Jungkook had left his phone at home, and the father had no other way to reach him. He walked through the neighborhood for hours waiting for Jungkook to appear, but he knew where the boy must be.

He knew Jungkook was with High Prince Taehyung, but he also knew he must keep his promises to Poseidon. It drove him mad not knowing for sure if his little boy was okay, so Jin hoped Poseidon was watching over him.

He wondered if the boy had drowned in an attempt to follow Taehyung into the ocean. He wondered if Jungkook had already discovered his powerful abilities, if Jungkook had already transformed himself and had decided never to return to say goodbye.

He worried for his son, and he worried for the future of the mer kingdom. What was to come? What other use of Jin could Poseidon have?

"I think I found something! Gather round, men" shouted a middle-aged man with a clean cut mustache and a gold helmet engraved with wavelike opal designs. His tail was a deep terracotta orange, and his pristine gold armor was embellished with sea stars to compliment it.

Men dressed in silver armor collected and saluted to the man of power. They were gathered in front of a large, cleverly disguised cave opening. It was late into the night, so the soldiers were all eager to finish their search and return to their husbands and wives in the kingdoms. They restlessly awaited instruction.

"Enter with subtlety gentlemen. Should we encounter the Prince and High Prince, we should not want them complaining to their fathers of any harsh treatment," ordered the man in gold. "Yes general," all his men said in unison before flooding the cave.

They were not loud and rambunctious as most soldiers are, so Jimin did not notice as they bustled through his home. It was only too late once he realized who was there.

A soldier caught him by the tail before Jimin could escape into his cave's hiding place. "Let me go!" the merboy screamed, but the soldiers would do no such thing. A man in silver held his tail while a man in gold swam towards Jimin.

The general bowed deeply, and Jimin nodded in return. "Prince Jimin," the general started, a grin of satisfaction on his lips. They had finally found the Princes after weeks of searching , and Jimin could see victory in the man's eyes. "The High King has ordered us to bring you and the High Prince back to the Kingdoms. By order of the High King, you must tell us where the High Prince is hiding here."

"What makes you so sure he's here?" Jimin questioned with a smirk. He puffed up his chest, making his royal dominance clear to the soldiers. He would use his noble leverage to protect Taehyung at all costs.

"Prince Jimin, I have orders from the High King. I am determined to follow them and find the High Prince," the general said, trying to combat Jimin's exceedingly powerful manner. The boy was tiny and adorable at most times, but he was also intimidating and controlling when needed. The general's stance faltered, losing the fight for dominance and realizing Jimin would never cooperate with him.

"Very well. If you shall not answer to me, then we will bring you to answer to the High King. Private Lee, please take Prince Jimin as we escort him to the Kingdoms," ordered the man in gold. He cautiously eyed Jimin before leading his men out of the caves.

Later, when he did not answer the furious High King, Prince Jimin was locked up in his rooms. He would not be let out until he told the High King where Taehyung was, and so he was not let out at all.
