"Aw man! I knew I would slip up soon! Yeah, it's true," Taehyung said in a dejected tone. "I'm the high prince, meaning I'm the highest level of prince within the 4 kingdoms." Jungkook pouted, wondering why Tae sounded so ashamed of this.

"That's so cool Tae! High Prince Taehyung! Why didn't you tell me sooner! And why do you seem so embarrassed about it?" responded Kookie. Taehyung looked into Jungkook's distant eyes. He sighed.

"I didn't want you know, because I knew you would treat me differently. Friendships are only truly genuine for me when the other person doesn't know about who I am. I didn't want to play the 'befriend the prince' game with you; I just wanted it to be Kookie and Tae getting to know each other," he said as Jungkook searched the water for a part of Tae to hold.

"I get that. I bet it's really hard living with a bunch of people who are afraid to be executed if they make you mad," Jungkook replied. "I promise I won't treat you any differently now that I know. It'll be like when I discovered you were a mermaid. I didn't treat you any differently then, did I-" Kookie's question was cut short by the sound of footprints coming down the hall. There was a knock at the door.

"Hey, Kookie! Are you almost done? Breakfast is ready," Jin sing-songed behind the door. Both boys froze, their eyes widening. Jungkook slowly lifted himself out of the tub to dry off.

"Y-yeah Dad. Just give me a few more minutes please?" Jungkook waited for a response. "Okay see you soon." Jungkook released a breath he didn't know he'd been holding. He grabbed two towels.

"We need to get you out of there just in case you decide to make any more tail splashes. I don't want my Dad hearing you," Jungkook said urgently. Taehyung agreed with a hum, giggling from knowing that he was too happy to keep quiet.

With all his upper body strength, Tae pulled himself to a seated position on the side of the tub. Then, he swung his tail over the side so the ends of his fins hit the cold tiled floor. Jungkook, already drying off, paused to feel for a towel to hand to Tae. However, Tae had already taken the towel, and so the mer reached his hand out for Jungkookie to find instead.

"I already picked it up, Kookie. It's okay," he whispered, cheeks tinting pink when Kookie squeezed his hand. They stayed there for a minute until a wave of a delicious aroma hit Taehyung's nose. "Omp  what is that! It smells amazing!"

"That's my dad's cooking," Kookie replied, returning to using his towel. Taehyung copied what Jungkook was doing with the towel, not really understanding how brushing his skin was supposed to make him dry.

Magically, it did, and Tae was amazed by this amazingly simple technology. Soon, Jungkook had TaeTae in his arms and was carrying the boy to his room. "Back on the bed?" Taehyung asked. Kookie nodded. "A little more to the right," Taehyung mumbled quietly, and Jungkook silently thanked him.

Once placed on the sized mattress Taehyung watched as Jungkook started to remove the soft layers of fabric from the bed. "Why are you doing that?" he asked, confused. "So you can get under the covers," Kookie responded. Tae tilted his head at Kookie's response.

"What do you mean?" he wondered aloud. Jungkook smiled and slid his hands around Taehyung's waist to drag him towards the unraveled covers. "Just trust me," he grinned. And so, Tae allowed Kookie to tuck him in under the sheets, and he was immediately met with a warm comfort from the duvet atop him.

He hummed in satisfaction, making Jungkookie laugh. "I'll be back. You can sleep for a bit," Jungkookie muttered, guesstimating where Tae's forehead was so he could leave a delicate kiss. Thankfully, he landed it perfectly in the center, and Taehyung blushed and moved the covers over his head childishly.
