The Musician, The Yeti, and The Ginger

Chapter Three

Elena

Darkness. That's the first thing I see. And voices. I hear Ginny's crying out for help. I hear Marina's yelling at someone. I hear Patty's apologizing to me. I resurface.

"She's awake!! Patty come look!" Ginny yells, while she strokes my light brown hair. Patty's beautiful face swims above me. He has a black eye and his lips are busted open. I look around. I am lying on the couch in my living room. Jason, Marina, Luke, Ginny, and Patty are all sitting, watching me. I look back up to Patty.

"Wh..at h..happened to you?" I barely got out. He throws his head back and laughs. He looks back at me, smirking.

"You just woke up from fainting and you ask me what happened to me." He said in his adorable accent. I chuckle dryly.

"Help me up Patty." He quickly gets up to help me sit up. He helps me up and I lean against him. I don't care. He comforts me. His body is warm and he's rubbing my arm. I can't help to feel loved right then and there. I look up at everyone else. Ginny and Luke are clung to each other. So are Jason and Marina. I look at Ginny.

"What happened? Why.. why was I put for so long?" I ask to really anyone. They look to eachother and Ginny sighs.

"Will came back. He said he was taking you back. When you told him no, he flipped out and hit you. Then you blacked out." She starts. I nod my head for her to keep going but instead Patty answers.

"After you blacked out, I decided it was time for him to taste a bit of his own medicine. So we beat each other up for about ten minuets. Jason and Luke eventually stopped it. Will ran off with bruises and a broken nose. We brought you inside and we have been waiting here ever since." I inhale and exhale slowly. I put my head in my hands. Patty rubs my back.

"Hey its gonna be okay. I promise. If anyone tries to hurt you again I swear to God-" I cut patty off by giving him a hug. I don't care if all our friends are watching. I love Patty Walters.

The next few days, Patty stays at my house and takes care of me. He brings me food and cuddles me in my bed while we watch Disney movie marathons. During one of the movies, Patty leaned over to me and gently kissed me on the lips. It was like a lightning bolt struck me. I kissed him back more passionately. He ran his fingers through my hair and my arms went around his neck. When we broke apart, we were breathing hard. He pulls my chin up and looks me deep in the eyes. I look back. His eyes are mesmerizing.

"Elena I know its a little too up forward, but will you do the honors of being my girlfriend?" I am speechless. He raises his eyebrow at me. I break into a smile.

"Of course I will!" I pull him into a hug. That was yesterday. Today, police showed up at my house. Patty, Ginny and I were sitting across from two Detectives.

"Elena, we have some disturbing news about Will Herondale. " Detective Eric said. I raised my eyebrow at him.

"What do you mean officer?" Ginny asks him. Poor girl. She's been through so much.

"Did Will show up to your party on Saturday?" Detective Eric goes on. I sigh. I tell the Detective everything that happened.

"Well Elena from what you told me it seems you two were close." I nod my head. "Well then you might want to read this." Detective Eric hands me a piece of paper. I read it. I reread it. I reread it three times.

"What is it?" Patty asks. I look up to him, dead in the eyes.

"It's a suicide note."
