Mănăstirea Cârţa
(Cârţa Monastery, Romania)The sisters begin making rosary beads from the roses that they got from the garden. It was fun to make and it was a great time killer. Tying the knot to finish the rosary beads, Sophia started talking,
"Hey sis, what do you think would happen if we were not nuns?"
"Well, you would probably marry Mr. Tepes."
Sophia's face becomes red, yet again, "S-Stop that!"
Elaine chuckles, "I mean that is what you want right? To marry someone, have kids, and settle in a quiet place?"
Sophia's face becomes even more red, "H-Hey cut it out!"
"I mean you would make a lovely wife, especially to Mr. Vladimir."
"S-Stop!"
"Your name would be Mrs. Sophia Corazon Tepe-"
"STOP IT!" Sophia covers her face in embarrassment.
"Anyway that is what I think would happen if we were not nuns. Too bad we are nuns thanks to the bloody war."
Speaking of a bloody war, Elaine and Sophia's father died in the crusade. He was mercilessly killed by a crusader knight thinking he was a traitor. Sophia thought about it and started crying. Elaine did so as well.
"Let us just hope that God gave father a great place up above." Sophia said.
Elaine wipes her tears, "I hope so."
"Let us hurry and finish these at once. I am getting sleepy." Elaine said and started polishing the rosary beads that she has finished.
"You know we still have our daily rosary prayers right?" Sophia reminded her.
"I know but I want to finish this so we can do the rosary prayers later and give these to our friends."
"Oh yeah!" They then picked up the pace and finished the rosary beads just before everyone else came back for the daily rosary prayers. They then gave the rosary beads to everyone including Sister Catherine. "Thank you dear. Will you please lead the rosary prayers?" Sister Catherine asked Sophia. "Yes of course Sister Catherine. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit..." She started.
After a half an hour of prayer, it was lights out. Sister Catherine left for her chambers and the other nuns went to their beds and slept, including Elaine. The clock struck 12 but Sophia still couldn't sleep. So she went towards Elaine to ask her to come with her but Elaine was asleep. So she went out alone. The moon was in its crescent phase but still, the moonlight was bright and soothing for her. She sat down the soft grass and started counted the dimly-lit starts above. She reached about a hundred and twelve stars and lost count. She then took a rose and started plucking the petals,
"He loves me, He loves me not. He loves me, He loves me not..."
Again, just like the other night, she felt a presence. She then gripped the rosary beads on her chest and started praying The Lord's Prayer. Someone then walked near her and said,
"Hey, hey, I'm not here to hurt you."
"V-Vlad?? You scared me!" She exclaimed.
"I am very sorry my lady. I could not sleep. This place is just soothing." Vlad apologized. Vlad then helps her up and asks, "What brings you here in this time of night?"
"Umm, I was gonna ask you the same thing Vlad. I was here because I could not sleep. If I cannot sleep, I tend to come here to relax until I become weary." She replied. "But what are you doing here Vlad?" She added.
