A/N: PREPARE YOUR OVARIES AND GET SNACKS THIS IS GONNA BE A WHILE

Caleb's POV

My alarm clock buzzes on the nightstand and I groan, knocking a few books off the table while trying to turn it off.

I stand up and with a sigh walk over to my closet and grab a random shirt and pants, they're all the same gray standard, anyways.

I open my door and slump against the hallway wall for a second, I was never a morning person, before walking to Beatrice's door and knocking softly, in case our parents are still asleep. I don't hear her so I walk in. She's buried under the covers.

"Bea..?"

She snores softly and I groan.

I throw the blankets off of her and she sits up with a startle. She throws her fist out and I jump back just as her hand grazes the air where I used to stand. She rubs the sleep from her eyes, and looks at me, relief flooding her features as she recognizes me.

"I'm sorry, Caleb, you scared me.." She mumbles. I laugh and drag her to a standing position.

"Hurry and change. I'll be downstairs." I say and walk out, closing the door behind me. I walk quickly down the stairs, the scent of sausage and eggs waking me up.

My mother is downstairs in front of the stove, since it's her turn to make breakfast, and I can hear my father's footsteps upstairs as he gets ready.

"Morning, mother." I walk to the stove and she smiles at me as I grab a spatula and flip the eggs.

"Good morning, sweetie. Where's Beatrice?" She asks.

"I woke her up before I came downstairs, she should be down soon." I answer.

As if on cue Bea comes down the stairs with my father behind her.

Beatrice yawns a good morning before sitting down, and my father does the same.

Mom brings the plates and silverware and I scoop the eggs and meat into two bowls, and set them down in the middle of the table.

Breakfast is quiet for a few minutes, when suddenly my dad remembers something.

"Oh, Caleb and Beatrice, I forgot to mention this after dinner last night but I got a call. The buses are currently out of order In the city so everybody is forced to walk unless you can take a car." He says. I can faintly hear Beatrice mutter 'or you are Dauntless' next to me and I nudge her leg with my foot under the table.

"Okay, we can walk to school. No trouble." I say and Bea nods next to me.

"Good to hear. Mr. Pattison next door is offering to drive me into the city, so I was worried how you'd get to school. Oh! Maybe you could walk with Robert and Susan!" He says. I freeze, and I can almost feel Beatrice radiate a cocky vibe. I clear my throat and smile.

"Of course. That's a great idea!" I cover up.

After breakfast me and Bea walk next door to the Pattisons. We stand In front of their dark, gray door.

"You do it, Caleb." She says with a straight face, but her voice is traced with humor. I scowl at her and knock curtly on the door.

Almost immediately Susan opens it, and a blush creeps onto her cheeks, and I feel heat rising in mine.

"H-hi, Caleb, Beatrice. Let me go get Robert, then we can go." She smiles softly and closes the door.

I walk down the stairs, slightly tired from the first day of class. Beatrice is not with me, so I assume she got caught in the crowd and went ahead.
