Tris's POV

"BEATRICE!" Caleb yells and begins to stomp over.

"Oh crap..." I hear Tobias mutter under his breath.

Caleb is a few feet away, and now I can see the murderous rage in his eyes, and they are directed at Tobias.

"Caleb, I didn't mean to, I-I was pushed forward." Tobias manages to get out with a strained voice. Caleb either ignores Tobias or doesn't believe him.

I see Caleb quickly pull back a fist and luckily Tobias does too because he ducks at the last moment, and Caleb swings and tumbles forward a few steps.

"Caleb, stop!" I yell at him. He gets up from the dirt and looks at me with pleading and confused eyes.

"Beatrice! Why were you even kissing Tobias Eaton? He's like...sixteen!"

"Actually fifteen." Tobias interjects. We both shoot him a glare.

"We weren't actually kissing. I mean, we were but not on purpose! Somebody pushed Tobias and he fell on my lips...with his." I say awkwardly. Caleb visibly calms down when he learns that it was an accident, but he tenses right back up and swivels on his heel, looking up at Tobias with an icy glare.

"You." He uses all his force and shoves Tobias' chest, but he barely budges. "Stay away from my sister. Or else."

"But-"

"STAY AWAY FROM HER!" Caleb yells, and I am so grateful that the bell rang a few minutes ago and everybody is gone and they can't hear my brother.

There is an awkward silence between everybody before Caleb turns on his heel towards me. "Let's go, Beatrice. We're late." He grumbles and grabs my wrist a little too tightly, dragging me towards the doors. I risk a glance back and wish I hadn't. The broken and sorrow look on Tobias' features makes me cringe with guilt, and I wish I knew why.

Caleb stayed quiet at dinner that night, and I was thankful. Not that I thought he would rat on me for something I didn't really do, anyways. There was an awkward tension between us, though.

We parted ways at the hallway like usual, but Caleb gave me a 'don't you dare go near him again or I'll have to tell our parents' look and went to his room, the door shutting with a creak. I walked to my room across the hall and cringed at the squeak the hinges made.

I sighed and replayed the days events in my head as I took my hair out of its bun and began changing.

First there was that weird Caleb and Susan moment when we were walking, and Robert putting his hand over my waist, and that kiss with Tobias...

I shiver lightly and my stomach flips at the memory.

I remember my mouth tingling when his met mine, however brief the moment was. I curiously run my fingertips over my lips.

The rest of that school day was normal, at least. I mean, Caleb and I got in some trouble since we were late of course but not much. A Candor boy tripped me but that was all the torment. At lunch Susan and Robert joined us, and I could've sworn Caleb and her were holding hands under the table.

I also bumped into Tobias in the hallway. He looked down at me remorsefully for a second and looked like he was going to say something before Caleb dragged me away, and I didn't look back that time. Maybe I should have.

It doesn't matter now. Tobias is not going to talk to me anymore, not after that accidental kiss. I don't blame him, though. I'm not exactly 'pretty' like Susan or some of the other Abnegation girls and it must have been embarrassing for him. Oh well, I'm not aloud to anyway.

I laugh quietly to myself and tuck the blankets over my head, and listen to the clock ticking each second before I drift off to sleep, nervously awaiting tomorrow.

A/N: hey guys sorry if it sucked or was too short but I wrote it in the car ride back from Oregon and it was cramped in there.

There is about to be a really cute and important FourTris moment but I don't really want to skip ahead like a week or something but a few days is okay I guess. Meh. :/

Vote please! :))
