[chapter seven]

"I'M GONNA SAY THIS ONCE," Cap began, as they entered the lab. It was obvious now what was happening. Tony was trying to fix this in the only way he saw fit. He only sought to remedy his actions. Not apologize or back track but to finish it. He was going to finish the body.

"How about nonce?" Tony snapped.

Steve was becoming angrier. "Shut it down." His voice held something that Sav had never heard from him before—something she couldn't describe.

"Nope, not gonna happen." Tony's tone began to mimic Steve's. Sav winced. There'd been so much fighting recently that sometimes she was sure they wouldn't be able to recover. It was mostly Tony and Steve hardly seeing eye to eye. This was one of those times.

"Tony, don't do this," Savannah pleaded weakly. She took a step closer to him, his eyes darting to hers. His dark eyes were filled with silent turmoil and it was suddenly and painfully obvious that she could take him down if need be.

"You don't know what you're doing," Cap added, also taking a step closer.

"And you two do? She's not in your head?" Bruce spoke for the first time. Savannah narrowed her eyes at her friend who was obviously unwilling ignore the past. She herself hadn't forgotten what Wanda had done to them but right now they had a common goal.

"I know you're angry—" He instantly cut Wanda off.

"Oh, we're way past that. I could choke the life out of you and never change a shade." His words were surprisingly menacing, something that was hardly ever heard from Bruce.

"But you won't," Savannah glowered, finding herself sticking up for Wanda. He looked to her then back at Wanda. She wouldn't hesitate in this situation but if he was the other guy then it'd definitely be a lost cause.

Steve's blue eyes met Sav's then proceeded to follow Bruce's moves. "Banner, after everything that's happened—" The blonde trailed off.

Tony shook his head, drawing the attention to him. "That's nothing compared to what's coming." His voice was deep with desperation. He desperately wanted them to see his point, but it was impossible when he was forcing it upon them.

Savannah's voice was soft as she spoke, she allowed her powers to flow to her hands. "Don't be crazy Tony. Now is not the time."

He rolled his eyes. "Are you gonna take Cap's side in every dispute Savannah?"

His words felt like a slap and she physically flinched. "Only when you're being irrational. You can't learn a lesson, no, not when you've known this entire time. You couldn't control that stone a week ago, and you can't control it now."

The dark haired man narrowed his eyes at her. "You don't understand—" Cap interrupted him.

"She's right Tony." Just then Pietro used his speed to unplug the cradle.

"No, no. Go on. You were saying?" Seconds later someone, who she could only assume was Clint, shot a bullet through the floor Pietro happened to be standing on, causing him to fall straight through.

"Pietro," Wanda yelled worriedly. Sav's eyes widened almost worried for the man too.

"Really Clint?" Savannah called down. Suddenly, the cradle began rerouting. Steve threw his shield, destroying the equipment. Bruce grabbed Wanda as Tony and Cap began a full on fight. Then Sav felt the barrel of a gun touch the back of her neck.

She smiled. "You gonna shoot me Hawkeye?" She asked sweetly. He never used guns so she must've been a special occasion. If it were anyone else, she would've taken them down in seconds.
