The next few weeks saw Sergio and Eliza trying to cope with the pups getting older, as well as the sudden threat that Evan seemed to pose for the family; Sergio worried what the younger wolf would do if he got a shot at Eliza and the pups.

“It should be any day now,” Sergio mused as he watched his wife with the two pups, he smiled softly wondering when the two would finally take their human forms; the two were now three months old and were growing fast.

The werewolf drew his wife closer to him and nuzzled her contently as they watched the twins sleep, the moment that they would change into their wolf forms was approaching quickly and he knew that this would change things for them.

“They’ll be okay right?” Eliza asked as she watched the twins, she didn't know what to expect when the pups made their change and Sergio had tried to keep her calm without knowing what would happen when the change took place.

“They’ll be fine, they probably won’t even notice the change,” the werewolf said to his wife, she nodded her head as she looked at him wondering how he was coping with the sudden stress; she knew that her brother was causing problems even if Sergio hadn't told her.

Sergio closed his eyes as he rested his head against her shoulder, he was exhausted and didn't want to worry Eliza with the fact that things were far from safe for her and the twins; he was already arranging for them to be sent somewhere safe if Evan continued to cause trouble for him.

“It’s bad isn’t it,” Eliza said as she looked at Sergio, he opened his eyes and nodded his head knowing that it would be pointless to lie to her about what was happening outside of their home.

“Your brother is determined to ruin things for me, if he continues he’ll challenge me to my position soon,” Sergio said as a horrible feeling started to creep up on him; he licked his lips as Eliza looked at him concerned, she knew that it would only cause problems if Sergio was to lose his territory.

“You’ll be fine Eliza, I have made arrangements if it came to that for you to go and stay with Lord Casillas,” Sergio said making Eliza stare at him, she knew that he would attempt to send her away to protect her but to the blonde it signalled that her brother was taking this too far; if he continued, he would cost Eliza her husband.

“I don’t know what I would do if something happened to you or the twins,” Sergio mused as he looked down at his children, he had a feeling that they would grow up without him and it made him cherish every moment that he had with them and their mother

. Eliza watched him as she realised what he was thinking, she closed her eyes before she cuddled into Sergio’s chest, he drew her close knowing that Evan would destroy him when he had the chance.

Eliza smiled as she stared down at Sofia, who was cuddled into her arms while her brother slept; the blonde ran a hand through her daughter’s brown hair as her big brown eyes looked up at her.

“She’s beautiful,” Sergio whispered as he watched his wife with their daughter, the twins had finally taken their human forms and their parents couldn't help but marvel at them.

Eliza nodded her head as she looked at Sergio, she had a horrible feeling that things for them would never be the same unless her brother was stopped; she couldn't believe that he was doing this and hoped he realised that if he took Sergio from her then she’d never forgive him.

“Don’t think about it Eliza, we can’t have that hovering over us all the time,” Sergio said as he moved to sit next to his wife, he didn't have to be in the same room as her to sense her sadness of what might happen in the future.

“I love you and no matter what happens, I always will,” Sergio said as tears formed in his wife’s hands, he drew her close as he looked down at their daughter and held her close; he knew this was hard but he had a feeling that this was the last time they’d get to be like this together.

A sudden knocking at the door made Eliza and Sergio look at one another, the blonde moved to settle their daughter down while her husband moved to see who was at the door.

“I’m sorry to disturb you my lord but Monk Gilbert is here,” the doorman said making the colour drain from Sergio’s face, he knew that this was the moment that would change his entire life.

Monk Gilbert stared at the young werewolf, who was about to tear a family apart for his own selfish needs; he didn't understand what Evan hoped to gain from what they had gathered together for.

Monk Gilbert sighed as he looked at Lord Ramos, he knew that the older werewolf wouldn’t take kindly to what was about to happen; he had a feeling that no good could come from this.

“Monk Gilbert,” Sergio said stiffly as he nodded as he looked at the official that was stood outside his home, Eliza stood a couple of feet behind him; she couldn't bring herself to look at her brother, who was about to bring her so much heartache.

“I’m sorry for the interruption but I am here because Copas has challenged you for your titles,” Monk Gilbert said making Sergio nod his head while Eliza closed her eyes, she felt like her world was coming to an end; she sighed as she looked at her husband, who stood still.

Evan stepped forward as he looked at his sister, he was doing this for her to save her from the trap that she had fallen into; she deserved better and he was going to show her that.

“I accept the challenge,” Sergio said making Eliza look at him, her chest suddenly aching as she watched him wondering what she would do if he didn't win this challenge.

“Then the challenge will take place tomorrow,” Monk Gilbert said as he looked sadly between Eliza and Sergio, he knew that this would be hard on them if Sergio failed to beat Evan.

Eliza stared at her brother for a moment before she shook her head in disgust and walked back into the house, she couldn't bear to be anywhere near him right now and she doubted she would forgive him for what was going to happen.

“Are you sure about this Evan?” Sergio asked as he looked at his brother-in-law, he knew that the younger wolf had something planned and he hoped that it wouldn’t cause more hurt to Eliza when they fought.

“I told you Ramos, I will look forward to your downfall,” Evan spat making the older werewolf sigh as he watched the younger werewolf leave, he had a feeling that Evan was going to destroy what he had with Eliza.

Monk Gilbert slowly approached Sergio as he wondered what the werewolf would do if he lost the challenge, he knew that it would cost the werewolf his family and he wondered what he planned to do to sort them.

“I’ve already organised everything… Casillas has said that he’d take my wife in along with the children,” Sergio said as he watched Evan disappear, he closed his eyes as he realised that this could be the last night that he got to spend with his wife and children.
