Light found it's way back to my eyes. I slowly parted my eyelids to see everything blurry. A handsome face was towering over me. His green eyes gazing through mine. Phillip's cheeks were scarlet. I could feel his heartbeats beneath his chest. He leant in and a tear escaping his eyes, falling on my cheek. I flinched from the chillness of his tear against my skin. I gazed at his eyes. He showed a weak grin "are you okay?" He whispered as he cupped my cheek. I nodded not able to find my voice yet. I tired to get up but I felt my bones shattered. Simon appeared from behind, he held me arms and pulled me up to sit. I lay my head on his shoulder. I was quite dizzy and I saw spots dancing in front of me.
"H- how long ...have I been unconscious? " I tried but my voice was so weak like a whisper. It felt like years, consumed by the darkness. I still felt my breathing heavy but I tried to hide it.
"Three days.." Simon started. I glared in surprise. Three days? I've been lying like this for three days!! What happened during my sleep? "You should've told us. You should've told us about what you were up to"
"I wasn't up to anything. I didn't know about the wolf's blood, only when I saw the claw. You expected me to stay there and watch as she turns savage and kills you all?" I blustered.
"You expect us to stay calm when we hear you groaning till pass out?" Phillip shot back. His lips were quivering as he spoke "you scared me to death ,Lia , I thought you were.. I though you were dying " his voice weakened and cracked at the last word. He quickly turned his face to hide his instant blush. My tongue was paralyzed. He wouldn't let me do it if he knew. I did this to keep you safe ,Phil. I did this for you. The words were obvious in my eyes, he probably understood. I moved towards him and clung to his muscular arm, gently kissing his shoulder. His shoulders dropped as he let his breath go, which I didn't know he was holding. He looked down at me. I studied him as usual to hide my fear that was consuming me. I never noticed his hair curl around his ear and at the ends. I studied every inch of him. His grass-green eyes, gazing through my soul. His red lips apart as he breathed through them. His jaw tightened. For a moment, I imagined him a normal man. Never twitching back to his diabolical nature. My heart sank at the thought. His vampire shadow would always be there. I shook that thought away and glanced around.
"Wait, where is she?" I started as I scanned the whole area around us.
"Who? The girl? " Draco's voice appeared as he walked towards us from a distance. He was holding something. She walked at his tail. "She's right here with me" he started as she walked to his side. "We went to get some water" he handed me the bowl he was holding. The water was crystal clear, it looked like a mirror. Wait..water?
"Where did you get this from?" I started as my head popped up to gaze at Draco.
"The river..." He said as he pointed behind him. I stood up to observe. The river appeared in a distance, about a mile or two. It was sparkling like a million diamonds were thrown in it.
"How did we get here?"I started ,baffled. "We weren't even close to it."
"Yea we continued walking and reached this place." Phillip cut us off. I stared at him, he grinned. The answer to my question. How did I get here? " yea, I carried you all the way here " my eyes lit up. You carried me? All this way?
I love you, I mouthed.
I love you more, he mouthed back. We grinned at each other then I broke the gaze, turning back to Draco."Okay, Phillip, going to hunt?" Draco started as he walked towards him. He hit his shoulder and they both laughed.
"Sure, pal" Phillip murmured in his laughs. Pal? Is that real!? I didn't know ,my mouth was opened as I watched. The laughed at me. "You can say we made up during your sleep"
"Yea right" I smirked. "So you need a bow and arrows?" He nodded. I called for my powers and whispered in my head bow and arrows. A moment later, they appeared in front of me. Phillip took them and headed to hunt. I ran after him..
"Wait" I called. He turned to see me. I held his hand and closed my eyes shut. Nature, please protect him. I opened my eyes to see light running on his skin like a blanket. It covered him from head to toe, then it faded away.
"What did you do?" He whispered as he leaned in. His lips brushing against my ears. I felt his warm breath.
"Just protecting you" I jumped up and kissed his cheek. He blushed, I did too. "Go on" I murmured as I pushed his shoulder. He chuckled and left. I watched him go. Stay safe stay safe. I repeated in my head, fingers crossed. I walked back to our spot. I knelt beside Simon, he didn't seem alright at all.
"What's wrong?" I started, he looked up at me. His face was red. The sight made my heart sink. "You're okay?" He shook his head.
"I- I started seeing illusions in the past three days. Every time I think it's real. Then everything disappears. Remember those illusions you used to see back home? Before you got cursed and we gave you these dreams. You saw blood or Chrisy hurt...remember them?" His words gave me a flashback to that day. When I walked in the room and saw Christiana's face half torn, then everything would disappear. " I think someone is watching us... I think there's a demon around us giving me these illusions." I was petrified.
Any demon is weak, I killed the king.
Any demon is weak, I killed the king.
Any demon is weak, I killed the king.
I repeated in fear. What if the king is back?"W-what did you see?" I tried to stay calm but my fear was obvious. He looked behind me and stared at something. His eyes became teary and his cheeks scarlet. He pointed with a quivering finger.
"That"
I turned around and I saw it... I saw what we feared the most.
