Even though you have worked here, every single agent knows about what you've done and refuses to treat you equally like the other prisoners. The others get a little of respect and you don't get any.
You talked about shame. How Fury is ashamed of what you've done, yet everyone seems to know about it. But then it hits you. Everyone knows except the Avengers. But why would he keep this from his precious Avengers? They know you're the enemy but they don't know why. It amuses you and you wonder if you can twist some minds of them to let you out of here.
Perhaps that opportunity comes sooner than expected because look who is standing in front of your cell. 'Hello Bruce.' You say, eyeing him up and down as he opens the door of your cell. You never met him but you know all about him and his colleagues. 'Hello {y/n}.' He says and that's where you notice his small briefcase.
'What are you going to do to me?' It frightens you a little bit. Shield isn't what it used to be but this looks like some real shady things. And they sent the right guy because there is no defeating the Hulk. He will crush you in his large green hands and you're not immortal so complying is now all you can do.
'I'm here for a DNA sample.' He sighs, gently laying the briefcase on your bed and opening it, revealing swaps, needles and a row of scissors. 'My DNA? For what?' You take a few steps backwards but he assures you that he isn't going to hurt you. 'As long as you don't wake the green monster, you're fine.' How soothing.
'I'm going to need a strand of hair, some saliva and a little bit of blood.' You shake your head. 'No, why would I give that to you? I'm still a person with basic human rights. I don't want to cooperate with this experiment. From one scientist to another, what are your plans with it?' He shakes his head. 'I can't tell you, I'm afraid. Strict orders from Director Fury to not let you mess with my head and to just do my job.' Clever man to give him a heads up.
'But I didn't do anything wrong!' You try but he's not falling for it. At least, not yet. 'You are with Hydra and came for Loki's Scepter. Did you forget I was there when you confessed?' Ugh, he's going to be harder to crack than you had anticipated. 'Yes, but I'm forced into stealing that thing. I'm not even remotely interested in the Scepter but Hydra is and they heard about my talents so they pushed me into this job. James Barnes was only a diversion but absolutely not under my control. No matter what he says, my story is true.' You're lying your ass off and you see something changing in Bruce's eyes. But it quickly changes back to his distant glare.
'As much as I want to believe you, {y/n}. You are a threat to Shield and therefore considered dangerous. Now I'm going to take some of your DNA to create a scientific barrier between you and the top floors of the building. Including the lab where the Scepter is in.' Now he did spill Fury's plan right into your lap. 'Oh really? How does he think that is going to stop me? I just want to get out of here and never return to this place. Matter fact, I think I'm going to run for my life once I'm out of here. Hydra will not rest until I'm dead.' You need to keep this charade up for him to believe you're somehow innocent. He doesn't know about your past with Shield.
You see him mentally struggling with himself while grabbing the swab out of the case. 'It's better for both of us if you just cooperate with it. I don't want a pissed off Fury yelling at me.' He sighs and holds the thing in front of your lips. 'Now open up, please.' You're still in doubt to do this. What if this barrier is really strong and you can't succeed in your plan?
'Can't you reconsider this?' You ask but as you talk, Bruce sees it as an opportunity to stick the swap in your mouth and to rub the inside of your cheek with it, collecting your saliva. 'Thank you very much.' He says and carefully wraps it in this kind of bag to then place it in the briefcase. 'Next up, a strand of your hair.' He chooses to do the easy parts first because jamming a needle in you is not going to happen. Ever.
He cuts your hair so fast, you hardly notice his swift movements around you. You want to slap him in the face but remember the consequences that come with that action. Why did they have to send the Hulk down here?
'Ok, take a seat on the bed, please. I'm going to take some of your blood.' You shake your head furiously and take a few steps backwards. 'No. You won't get my blood.' You really don't want him to have your blood. It's not like you are afraid of needles, it's just that you don't want that barrier to be made. For the first time in a long time, you're doubting yourself. It's probably Fury who is messing with your head because of that comment about Hydra. 'Once Hydra knows you have been taken captive, they will let you rot! They're way too scared you come back a changed woman!'
What if Hydra will let you die? What if they will kill you when you get back? You need to redeem yourself and show them you haven't changed. Shield will not mess with your head!
