Greg leapt from his seat and banged on the table with his fist to get the attention of the guests.

"I can't do the glass thing without smashing it." He laughed, awkwardly scratching the back of his head.

He looked down at me and I winked reassuringly at him, part of me curious as to what his speech contained.

"My speech today will be as short and as un-cheesy as possible! Apparently it’s my job to do all the thank-yous, so on behalf of my beautiful wife and I, the biggest thank-you goes to all of you for coming. The day would not have been the same without you and neither would my bank balance! But on a serious note, it is amazing to see so many of you here. Particularly those of you who have had to travel many miles, like my mother-in-law.” He paused to wink playfully at the older woman who sat with tears glistening in her eyes. “Nick, Warrick and Grissom, truth be told, I'm surprised you agreed to be my groomsmen but I'd like to thank you anyway. You guys are probably the reason why I didn't drink a bottle of whiskey before the wedding- although I‘m not promising anything now we‘ve gotten through it! Catherine, Sara and Wendy, I am sure you're glad that today is finally here and that Miks will finally stop nagging you about flowers and dresses-actually I think Miks herself will be glad to stop nagging you. Anyway, the three of you look incredible and I know Miki and myself both thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Finally but most importantly of all; Miki, I owe the biggest thanks to you for agreeing to be my wife, although I don't know what possessed you to say 'yes'. I've been trying for almost six months now to express how I truly feel about you in words but every time I‘m rendered speechless, but I've tried my best for this. Miks, I love you in so many ways and for so many reasons; you know me and understand me more than anyone ever could. You make me laugh so hard and smile so often, just by being yourself--no matter how childlike or serious that can be. You're not just my wife; you're my lover, my other half, my best friend and my soulmate. I love you more than words could ever say." He bent down and kissed me softly on the lips before standing up again. "I would now like to hand over to my best man, Nick. I would also like to say how great and amazing he is and I hope that he's not about to embarrass me in front of you all." Nick rose from his chair and the room suddenly became silent, apart from Greg mumbling an 'oh boy' out of the side of his mouth.

"This is what some people would call revenge, but Miki has personally asked me to refrain from mentioning the Boogeyman incident in this speech. I'm probably not the only one who thought that we’d never see the day that Greggo here finally settled down, but I’d like to say that I honestly can’t think of anyone better suited to him than Miki. Now, I had three main roles to fulfil as best man here today. The first was to get him there on time by making sure he got a good night sleep before the wedding. Well, I can assure you all that he slept like a baby; screaming for his mom every hour. The second was to get him here looking presentable with his face and hair in good order. Unfortunately, genetics didn’t get this right first time round so what chance did I have? My third task was to make sure that this speech left Greg the same shade of the bridesmaid‘s dresses and looking at him now, I‘d say I had succeeded. They always say the best man's speech is the worst five minutes of the groom's life--and I'm sure Greg will agree that is correct. Miki, good luck with him, you're going to need it. Ladies and gentlemen, it gives me immense pleasure, not to mention relief, to invite you all to stand and raise your glasses in a toast to Greg and Miki, the new Mr and Mrs Sanders. We wish you both the best for the future, and hope you enjoy a long and happy marriage."

There was a chorus of our names and everyone sipped from their champagne glasses.

"Oh and Greggo? This is something from me and Warrick. We think they'll come in useful later." Nick threw a small box our way and Greg caught it looking down at it in confusion before blushing red again and shoving it in his pocket.

"Go for it man!" Warrick laughed, high fiving Nick.

I danced with Greg later on, his fingers brushing against the bare skin of my back, my head resting on his solid chest as our fingers entwined, my eyes falling onto the ring on my finger, a smile making it‘s way across my face as I realised just how happy this man could make me as his lips pressed a delicate kiss to the crown of my head.

"Nick gave me the talk before." He told me resting his chin on my head.

"Hm?" I ask, my voice overcome with contentment.

"You know, the whole 'she's yours now and if you make her cry I'll break every bone in your body. Now what are you drinking?' talk." Greg explained looking down at me with so much love in his eyes I honestly thought I would cry. Instead, I laughed and pulled myself closer to him. "He's like a brother to you isn't he?"

"Yeah and he's the best."

"I know."

"How did you get my mom here?"

"Grissom mentioned that Brass had mentioned pulling her out of the program since the majority of the gang were off the streets now. I told them not to mention it to you and organised it to get her back here for this morning. She thought it was cute that she was your wedding present from me."

"She would." I chuckled softly, glancing across at where she sat laughing with some of my relatives.

"Talking of wedding presents...where's mine?" He grinned goofily and wiggled his eyebrows

"You'll get yours later." I whispered seductively in his ear.

"Can the honeymoon start now?" He asked, his eyes wide with excitement.

I laughed and hit him playfully, soon swapping partners to dance with Nick, then Warrick and surprisingly Grissom.

"I have to thank you Miki." He told me.

"What for?"

"For livening up the lab and bringing a smile to Greg's face. He really does love you."

"I love him too." I said, smiling softly up at the man who was a mentor to us all.

"I can tell. You two have something special that most people would envy these days. Treasure it and treasure each other." Grissom advised me, never falling short on his endless wisdom.

"I already do. Griss? Thank you, for coming today and for being nothing but supportive about this, even with Ecklie on your back all the time."

"Don't mention it. My team mean a lot to me and seeing you both happy is one of the best things that could happen."

Grissom kissed my cheek softly and moved away. I smiled and screamed when Greg spun me around from behind and kissed me passionately, enticing a soft moan from the back of my throat.

"Okay, Nick and Warrick have been winding me up at the bar. Can we not go and start the honeymoon now?" His desperate face was so cute and I laughed at how husky his voice was. "It's not amusing Miks, I'm seriously having problems keeping this under control. Plus that dress and my tux would look great on the hotel floor and you know it."

"We can't just drop everything and run out of here!"

"Yes we can, it’s our wedding.” Before I could reply, I found myself staring at Greg's ass. He'd scooped me up and thrown me over his shoulder. He moved towards the door quickly, ignoring my kicks, hits and protests. He stopped in the doorway and turned to face everyone.

"Once again, thank you for coming today and now I'm kidnapping my wife to ravish her! Goodnight and keep safe!"

"Follow your own advice there Greggo!"

"Safety first and all!"

I didn't know who I wanted to castrate more.

Greg, or the two goons who went by the names of Nick and Warrick!
