Part 1
The view from here is riveting, and even that word just doesn't do this lush environment justice. Even though it isn't raining, and it hasn't for the past several days, little droplets of water scatter the light around them like tiny diamonds catching the gleaming of the sun.
Animals of all kinds can be spotted if you just look close enough. Fur, feathers, paws and talons cleave the air, some a little more silent than others.
Leaves rustle in the wind, their vibrant green colors refreshing to the eyes. Flowers fill the gaps between their roots, their petals filling the spectrum of a rainbow.
And the scent is unbelievable. A mixture of earthy smells and the wonderful perfume of flowers fills up my nose and consequently my lungs to the brim.
I've never felt this alive before.
Part 2
Why, oh why, did I ever decide to leave the city behind? It is so silent here, that I can only seem to hear my own breathing, accompanied by the beating of my heart. It is honestly starting to stress me out.
There are beasts absolutely everywhere. I only know because I can hear them (and sadly, smell them too), because no matter where I look, I can't see a single one of them.
And everything (and I mean absolutely everything), is wet. How is that even possible, when it hasn't rained in forever?
Not too mention the colors around here, from the trees to those things between them that I suppose could pass as flowers. It almost looks like one of those quaint little paintings you pay way too much money for. I've never liked art.
The smell is the worst though. It makes my stomach do all sorts of things I'm pretty sure it isn't supposed to do. There better be a proper toilet around here.
I'm not counting on it though. This place doesn't even have access to the internet.
I think I might have discovered the end of the world.
Author's note: This is my entry for Contest 4 of @Simmy11talk 's Writing Contests. The two parts are written about the same scenery, but from a different POV.
