In my own world, we call it Earth
I never belonged, was always outcast
As I am no mere human, you see
Strangely enough, I was born a ghost
Though you might not quite believe it
As so many legends tell a different tale
But there I was, roaming the planet
No corporeal form to call my own
People stared, or worse, screamed
I had no one, not even a home
Then one day, by chance or fate
I happened upon a most curious thing
A portal, filled with swirling magic
Not able to die, nothing to lose
I took a chance and stepped right through
Lo and behold, a miracle took place,
I turned and turned in an unfamiliar space
A land so fantastical, brimming with magic
Colorful beasts roared all around me
None that I had ever seen before
I travelled this new world, with wide eyes
But still couldn't call it a true home
Now, it almost certainly could be called fate
As my path led to a second portal
Transporting me to an entirely new place
And so I kept travelling, through many realms
Each filled with many a wonder
One had the world turned upside down,
As I found myself walking the air
And breathing in particles of earth
Another was filled with dragons
That puffed out bright colored smoke
Whenever I dared to come too close
All these worlds had a single thing in common
As I never felt I truly belonged there
All but one, I have to add,
As I have now finally found a home
Floating through the portal, I didn't know
But it was in fact my very last
I wandered again, through magic abound
When at last, I found you
At first glance, it was immediately clear
You were a lost ghost, just like me
In my ghostly heart, then I knew
We were always meant to be
A pair, a set, truly two of a kind
As I couldn't get you out of my mind
But the rest of the story, you already know
As we spent so many moments together
Since the very first when we crossed paths
So this poem is for you, my ghostly love
May we be together, for the rest of our immortal lives
And thank each day the stars above
For forging a path to each other
Now two less souls are wandering lost
