Natsu's POV

The whole guild was still frozen, not just from the spell but with shock. All the events I had just seen were horrific, all the people I loved were being struck down and I couldn't do a thing about it. He took a member of my guild, my guild was my family and no one did that! Wendy was like my little sister and now she was in the hand of the people that hurt my friends. I couldn't stand for that, but it seemed that the only way to get her back was to give myself up. Could I do that? Could I leave my guild to save one person?

All off a sudden a groan filled the whole room, everyone started to move and get up. Slowly I felt the myself regaining control of my body, hearing my bones cracking from stiffness. Then my thoughts took a whole different direction, where was Lucy? She was at the bar, on the side of the guild where the man started attacking. Was she alright?! Immediately I ran, jumping over bodies laying on the floor their blood scattered across each other. Each one I saw the more my heart pounded. But not as much as it did when I saw her laying face down on the hard wood floor, a large slash along her back, blood pouring out of it.

"Lucy!!" I screamed turning her over, she was as limp as a rag doll. Her skin was pale and cold. Face was fixed with pain, I held her fragile body gently in my arms.

Now they had gone too far, they had hurt Lucy. They were going to pay for what they had done. But the whole guild had similar wounds as Lucy, how was she going to get the care she needed when so many other people were hurt? But for now all I could do was wait. I couldn't take her up to the infirmary because there were so many others up there already. So I ripped off my vest and wrapped it tightly around her mid-section to try to stop her bleeding.

I looked around at all the others lying around Lucy, they all had similar wounds and being held be their loved ones crying over them. I noticed Mira crying over Elfman, Gildarts over Cana and Gajeel held Levy with an angry and stern face, but no tears. The whole guild was a wreak, there was no way all the dragon slayers could leave them in this state.

I just hugged Lucy tighter to my chest and dug my face into her limp neck. Right now I had to focus on her, and getting everyone back together, not the threat that opposed to hold us.

"Natsu, the Master wants to see you." A soft voice put a hand on my shoulder. I looked up to see Mira, her eyes filled with sadness.

I looked back down to Lucy, not really wanting to leave her in such a state.

"Don't worry, I will look after her. I doubt it will be long." She gave a weak smile and I reluctantly gave the delicate Lucy to her. Then I marched up to the Masters office, passing sights I would never want to see in a life time. There was a small gathering of the dead. The dead! Those people had killed them, with no remorse. They were people I had known growing up all my life, I didn't really talk to them or know their names, but to me everyone was family. Why hadn't I gotten to know them before, before they... To say the least I was ticked, and I needed to burn some steam, literally. The last thing I needed was to have a talk to the master. He was going to yell me to stay low, not go after them, keep quiet and take care of the injured. Booorriinngg!!!

Sulkily I walked up the stairs to Masters office, up there was also Gajeel now away from Levy.

"Now, the Phantom Shadow guild has told us that the only way to get Wendy back is to hand you three over-" The Master started.

"We cant do that, don't you see what they did!? We need to get back at them, not hand ourselves over!" I slammed my hands on the table.

This made him angry that I interrupted him and said such a thing.

"Dont you see that what they did!? There are dead Natsu, dead! What if that was Lucy, or Happy? We cant just rush into things this big and especially not when we know we cant win."

This took me back, Master had said something I have never heard him say before. He told us that we weren't strong enough, we were always strong enough for anything, but not now.

"I know you three are in conflicts with yourselves right now, but today we don't fight. Please help us gather up all the wounded and do what ever the healing crew needs. Our only healer is gone so we are really going to need help from everyone. We will speak again when the guild is back on its feet."

With no other words we walked out of his office, with solemn hearts.
