Natsu's POV
I was back in my clammy, dark, pitiless cell. I was absolutely drained, physically and magically. But mentally my mind was ablaze, I was burning with the will to escape and help my friends. There was no way I was letting those losers from Phantom Shadow take away my home. I crawled to the door of my prison and grasped on of the bars on the door, begging my flames to come out, but none came. For one thing this was a magic proof room and I had no magic left.
Sighing I slumped back to the floor, body aching with every breath.
"Natsu? Is that you?" I heard a soft and weak voice.
My eyes flashed open and I stood shakily, peering out the small window, to see Wendy's face in the cell door across the hall from mine.
"Wendy!" My voice was hoarse from the "torture" session.
"Natsu-san, it is you! Are you alright?" She asked faintly.
"Ya, what about you? Can you see any of the others?" I questioned.
She solemnly shook her head.
"No sign of Grey and Erza either. I haven't seen them since they split us apart." I sighed in defeat and those are not many times.
"You mean Erza and Grey-san are here?!" She asked shocked.
"Ya, why?" I asked confused.
"They still have their magic, they weren't used in the Summoner!"
"So..." I still didn't get where she was going.
"Don't you get it?! With Grey and Erza, we can get everyone out of here!" She exclaimed.
"Oh, ya!" Suddenly the realization rushed through my head.
"But first we need to get out of these cells."
"Got it, I will just shoot my fire through the window!"
"No! You need what is left of your magic, I am not that useful anyway so I will direct my roar to your cell. Ready? Get away from the door!" Without any time for argument she stuck her lips out threw the window , barely escaping the magic barrier and blew her wind dragons roar.
I hardly had enough time to duck and slide out of the way, but the blast wasn't that strong, sinceWendy was weak from fatigue and lack of food. But it was just strong enough to knock the door off it hinges.
As I looked back I saw Wendy eyes roll up and her head disappear from the barred window, I stumbled to the keys hung on the wall and unlocked her door. She was lying on the stone floor, breathing heavily, she had used up every last ounce of her magic and was back to square one.
"Thanks Wendy, I will go find Grey and Erza, just like you said. I will leave you here to regain your strength, the door is unlocked now so leave any time you like." She nodded slowly threw pants.
I laid her back on the floor and closed the unlocked cell door, I had to find Erza and Grey. Holding the ring of keys in my hands I hobbled clumsily through the hallways.
As much as I hated it, the whole city of Magnolia was in the icy hands of that punch I called my friend. To be clear he is my friend and without him I probably wouldn't be as strong today, but we weren't just born to cope. Fire and ice, even today people still don't know which element would win. Because the fire would melt the ice but would be put out by the water thats produced! The whole situation is bad!
I meandered the never ending maze trying to hear or pick up any sign of any one, when I caught the sent of Erza. She was close, it hadn't seemed likes she'd moved since last week, just like the rest of us. In the same cage all day and night. Where the sent was the strongest was a dark cell with bars over a window, same as mine and Wendy's.
"Erza..." I whispered into the dormant window.
"Who goes there?!" A rushed voice sounded as my nose and chin were bragged by an unseen character.
"Ersa...is ne!" I protested against her face grip.
"Natsu?!" She gasped and released me.
"What was that for?!" I yelled, rubbing my chin.
She simply shrugged her shoulder in apology, thats all ya get with Erza.
I unlatched the door as it swung open, she bolted out making the door slam right into my already painful face.
"Oowww! I screamed clutching my bleeding nose.
"Great, now you can't track Grey." She sighed.
"Its your fault!" I lashed.
"What?!" She grinned as swarms of darkness enveloped her body.
"N-Nothing..." I stuttered.
"Good for you, I already know where he is. Follow me!" She rushed threw a random hallway as I followed.
We weaved through several tunnels and small entrances to another cell, this one held two people. Grey was leaning against the wall bored and Gajeel was slumped weakly in the far corner.
"Guys, get up, we need to get out of here!" Erza commanded, Grey instantly was standing military style while Gajeel only started to stir and sit up slowly.
I unlocked the door as it creaked open, Grey held Gajeel over his shoulder his shoulder as they fumbled out.
"Hurry, we have to get out of here!" Erza rushed everyone forward.
"Wait, Erza why cant we get Phantom Shadow back for what they did to everyone!" Grey exclaimed.
"No, we don't have time for that. Nor the man power, Natsu, Gajeel and Wendy are all down in magic, they are in no place to fight. Also we have to get back to Fairy Tail as fast as possible." She said sternly.
"Wendy! I left her back at her cell!" I remembered.
"Why did you do that, idiot?!" Grey yelled.
"Its complicated moron!" I argued back, but I didn't have enough energy to continue and dropped the subject. "Her cell is back this way, follow me."
We all ran back to where Wendy and I were kept, my legs felt like they were lead, my head was splitting, heart beating a million hours a minute. I knew I could collapse any second now, but I couldn't let my friends down, they needed me and I needed them. I needed Fairy Tail, most of my life was with Fairy Tail! They were all my family and I couldn't let them all down now.
"Wendy...!" I called.
"Wendy!" Grey echoed.
"Hey, I already said that! You don't have to repeat me!" I huffed.
"Well, maybe she didn't hear you the first time!" His forehead slammed mine, but that just enraged my headache even more and I pulled away immediately rubbing my head.
"Wow, hey..." Grey noticed my pain.
I just glared at him...in the friendliest way.
"Natsu? Are you back? Did you get Erza and Grey?" I heard a faint voice coming from the prison next to us.
"Wendy!" Erza swept to her cell, grabbed the keys from me and opened the door.
She was still very pale and breathing rapidly, so Erza lifted her onto her back.
"Now, lets get out of here!" She stated as she fled the scene, us all close behind, finally escaping the dark cages we were imprisoned for so long.
