Lucy's POV
She was gone, gone forever and I wasn't ever going to see her again. My body felt like it was floating in a river, a river of my sorrows. My whole being was torn, not be be sewn back together. All I wanted to do was ride this river and let it carry me anywhere it pleased.
As I was carried I heard voices, in the distance, I couldn't make out what they were saying or who was talking. But I heard the words "Natsu...missing...dragons" my mind turned from my self pity to why I had trained in the first place. I had to save Natsu and the others! That was why I got these powers, now it was time to use them.
Just thinking about it gave me a flicker of hope in my shallow being. I decided I couldn't stay like this forever and I had to start somewhere, so I let my eyes open. I was lying in a bed, in a small room, the walls were all painted white and many more beds lined the walls. I was back at Fairy Tail, in the infirmary, I had woken up here so many times I lost track. The sight was very comforting and peaceful. Also in the room was Levy, she was sitting on a stool beside my bed, also Grey and Happy. Why was Happy there, wasn't he with Natsu?
"Lu-chan, your awake! I was so worried about you!" Levy noticed her stirring and was tackled in a big hug.
Smiling slightly I hugged her back, looking up at grey he was shirtless, as usual and leaning up against the wall.
"What happened Lu-chan? I found you in the middle of the forest asleep!" Levy pulled away.
Just remembering made tears come to my eyes.
"She's gone...she's gone..." I sobbed.
Levy looked confused for a second then shock filled her face.
"What happened to your teeth?!"
Grey stood up straight from the wall and put two and two together.
"I get it. You were trained by a dragon, just like Natsu, Gajeel and Wendy. You say 'she's gone' because your dragon left."
Levy simply looked at him in shock then back to me, I nodded sadly.
"What kind of slayer are you?" She asked.
"Water." I said flatly.
"Well, thats cool!"she Happy cheered.
"Happy, what are you doing here? Weren't you with Natsu and the others?" I questioned.
His head fell to the floor, I must have hit the wrong string.
"The others were captured, the only thing I could do was fly away by myself. I couldn't take them with me, but I had to tell the guild!" He cried.
"Oh, Happy. I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that." I reached out and hugged him while he cried in my arms.
"Lu-chan, you don't have to stay in here, since your not really injured or anything." Levy reminded me.
"Oh, okay. Then I think I will go home and rest up. Happy, want to come?"
"Aye sir!" He flew around the room suddenly full of energy.
Happy and I were walking along the river, me on the river side rail and Happy swirling above my head. It was a peaceful walk, nice and quiet. Except for the boat men who always called their warnings and I always said I would be carful. When suddenly I smelled something, I couldn't make out exactly what it was, but it smelled like...fish?
"Do you smell that?" I asked Happy, though his nose wasn't that attuned to mine.
He stopped and sniffed the air.
"No, I don't smell anything. What does it smell like?"
"Well, kinda like...fish."
His eyes went wider than plates, and he grabbed me by the back of my shirt, lifting me high into the air.
"What are you doing?! Stupid cat!" I screamed, not used to being at these kind of heights.
"Which direction is the smell?" He demanded.
Realizing what he was doing I pointed my index finger to the direction on the sent. He immediately zoomed full speed to that direction.
We came to dock on a lake, the whole dock was surrounded by bags and bags of fish.
"You found the jack pot Lushie!" Happy plunged himself into a large bag of trout.
Myself not being a huge fan of fish, just sat down on the dock and swished my feet in the water. When the bag next to me moved, it didn't just fall over from gravity, it rustled and shook. I immediately stood, ready to attack. It continued to shake violently and Happy appeared at my side holding my leg. As the bag vibrated it fell over and out fell, a cat! It was green and had a yellow star next to its right eye. It wore a simple yellow dress on it small, fury body.
As it tried to walk it stumbled around like it was dizzy, sat down on the dock rubbing its eyes. Then it noticed us, we both stared at each other for a second as a dead silence flooded the air. Then both parties screamed, the cat hid back in the bag of fish and I grabbed Happy and held him tight.
Wait, what am I doing? I'm not scared of a cat and it is an Exceed, of corse its scared. It is from Endolas, this is a whole different world than the one she knows. I let go of Happy, who ran behind my back and I crouched down to the basket slowly.
"Hey, I promise we are not going to hurt you. I want to help. Can you tell us your name?" I asked in the sweetest voice I could.
Slowly the cat emerged from the bag, holding a fish for deer life. She looked terrified, but she came out so she must bee brave.
"I don't have a name, I don't know what I'm doing, I just came here to get some fish." She started to cry.
This took me back, the transfer from Endolas must wiped her memory. I slowly approached her submerging her in a loving hug.
"Its alright, I am here now. I can help, my name is Lucy, I have many friends that will take care of you. Why don't you come with us?"
She looked up, hope and tears in her eyes.
"May I?"
"Of corse! You know what, I think you can be my Exceed if you want! All dragon Slayers have one, you want to be mine?" I smiled.
"Yes!" She grew her wings and jumped into me, hugging me like there was no tomorrow.
"Well, lets go home. Happy you know the way back, right?"
"Aye!" This one word made my cat notice Happy, her eyes went wide.
"Another one of me..." She whispered to herself.
"Yep, and there are two more back at the guild!" I cheered.
"Really?! I cant wait to meet them!" She jumped up and down, she was so cute.
"Hold it!" I realized we were missing something. "We still need to name you!"
I though of a good name, something nothing like the other Exceeds we already have. Something pretty and like her. Then it hit me, I wanted it to be something where I could remember Eleanor. I have the perfect name.
"How about Ellie?" I smiled. (Shout out to all you Rave Master fans out there)
Her eyes light in in mention of the name.
"I love it!" She hugged me again.
"Well the Ellie, lets go home."
