Bella's POV
The three of us made it to a small hole in the wall pizza joint in the slums. It was used as a money laundering operation for one of the many crime syndicates in the area but made fairly decent pizza. The lady who ran the place was Italian her accent reminded me of my step-father and the smells reminded me of our home. They specialized in pizza but they also made a lot of Italian classics and had the best cannoli in the city.
"My fair Bella, it's been awhile since you've come to visit me." I was greeted with a warm smile by a kind woman in her late sixties with warm brown eyes and grey streaked black as night curls. She wiped her hands off on the small half apron tied around her large waist before sweeping me into a bone crushing hug, "You brought friends." She noticed Toga and Dabi and released me from her hold so she could look them over.
"This is Toga, and Dabi." I introduced them in turn before turning with a smile to the Italian woman, "And this is Gianna."
Dabi looked to me curiously. Toga looked like she wanted to find someone to kill and thought better than to try and target the older Italian woman as she realized I liked her and now looked conflicted.
"Nice to meet you." Toga grinned.
Dabi mumbled a hello under his breath. Gianna accepted it with a shrug before offering Toga a warm smile. "Well any friends of Bella are always welcome, sit wherever you like." She ruffled my hair affectionately before disappearing into the kitchen.
The three of us claimed a booth near the back away from the few other patrons in the establishment. After a while a boy around Toga's age dropped off some breadsticks and glasses of water before scurrying away without a word. He was probably one of Gianna's grandchildren.
Toga looked between Dabi and I as we shared one side of the booth across from her. "You two know each other?" She asked curiously.
Dabi shrugged, "We've worked together in the past."
The tinkling of the shop bells drew my gaze to the front and I felt my pulse quicken with excitement as I spotted a woman in her thirties. I'd seen her before, with All Might. She worked for a hospital, I knew he'd saved her in the past and they sometimes kept in touch. Would it upset him to hear of her death?
Dabi looked over at me, his teal eyes filled with curiosity. "You planning on killing us all, Plague Rat?" He covered his nose and mouth with his jacket sleeve before kicking Toga under the table to get her attention and motioning for her to do the same.
"That wasn't the plan." I smiled and forced myself to remain calm before slowly getting up from the table. "I'll be right back."
Toga looked up with a twisted smile, "Murder?" She grinned.
"Solo murder this time." I pat her on the head and excused myself from the table as the woman picked up her to go order and slipped out the door.
I followed behind her, my steps silent as I moved through the night, keeping to the shadows. The woman with the ginger hair picked up her phone as it started to ring. She answered with a smile in her voice it sounded like it was one of her girlfriends. They were chit chatting about work, the topic of All Might came up and I felt my blood boil.
Stepping from the shadows, I approached the woman and lightly tapped her on the shoulder. She spun around her caramel colored eyes were filled with warmth and concern. Everything about her was nurturing and maternal, something I knew nothing about.
