By the time lunch rolled around, Andy felt like she was back in Jasper Memorial High, like nothing had ever happened since before she spotted a black and yellow muscle car driving itself.
Her awkwardness was rearing its ugly head and there was nothing she could do about it. Not knowing anyone, or having anywhere to sit in the cafeteria - the social center of the entire school - wasn't helping at all.
For the first five minutes of the break, she stood off to the side of the room, shuffling from foot to foot. Her eyes darted around the room, surveying to see where she'd have the least likely chance of completely and utterly embarrassing herself.
'Yeah, that's a good idea. Approach this as a battle strategy!' she thought, trying to calm her racing spark.
She yelped and jumped when a sudden presence made himself known in her mind. Amusement, comfort, and worry washed over her spark as Jacks; consciousness nuzzled up to her own.
She let her shoulders slump slightly and her eyes to slid shut. Oh, Primus, she missed him. As if on cue her spark throbbed painfully.
Andy's eyes snapped open at the sudden pain that coursed through her entire body. She had to keep herself from whimpering. Being apart from her sparkmate was already taking its toll and it's been less than a week. She wasn't really surprised, ever since a certain ... incedent.. the two of them weren't keen on spending extended periods of time apart and as a result, their sparks got used to being so close all the time. The longer they spent apart, the more painful it will be for them and their sparks.
Andy's consciousness clung to her sparkmate's, her discomfort and longing rolling off her in waves. Jacks' emotions were similar, his longing more prominent than his discomfort and sparkache, but they were both there and detectable and sparkbreaking. Andy wanted to do nothing but cuddle her sparkmate, their chassis close to one another's, just to reassure both Jackie and herself that they were both there and together and it was going to be alright, the sparkache was nothing but a memory, it's not real. But she couldn't and it was real and the guilt and longing were more painful then the brief surge of pain she felt only a moment ago.
Her silver lined eyes were downcast as she tried to reassure both herself and Jacks that it's going to be fine. They'll see each other again soon. At least that's what she told herself.

"Hey!" a cheerful voice sounded in front of her.
Andy's head snapped up, her free hand drifting to her belt, reaching for one of the many charms hanging off of it.
"Whoa! No need for violence!" the female voice giggled.
Upon closer inspection, it was a with dyed who stood in front of her, her arms up in a surrendering gesture with a wary grin on her face.
"Sorry," Andy mumbled, shifting her weight from foot to foot, looking off to the side.
"Hey, no worries. I just wanted to check on ya, you seem pretty lonely. Wanna sit with us?" She nodded to a table in the back corner of the cafeteria where a and a sat.
"Umm...Sure. Thanks." Andy forced a small smile as she followed the bubbly girl to were her friends sat.

"I'm Sylvia, that's Dean, and she is Sadie," Sylvia plopped down next to Sadie, leaning her head against the females shoulder.
"I'm Andy." the brunette sat down across from them, next to, "It's nice to meet you all."

"Hey, I know you!" Dean exclaimed, pointing at Andy with a smile, "You're the new kid in Ms.Newmen's class!"
"Yeah, that'd be me." Andy nodded as she pulled out a water bottle filled with energon.
"You looked pretty intimidating." Dean talked around the food in his mouth.
Andy's mouth twitched into a small smile, "Thanks."

Sadie snorted, her mouth forming a smile while Sylvia giggled against her shoulder.
'Maybe I not going to be alone after all,' she thought as she sipped her energon.

That small smile didn't leave her face for the rest of the day.
