The death eaters were here. McGonagall hurriedly ushered Harry out of the room as they both went to join the others in the fight. Voldemort would first have to break down the protective barrier. That would buy them some time.
Harry met Ron and Hermione who were waiting outside. He decided not to tell them yet of the truth that McGonagall told him.
McGonagall was standing in front of Hogwarts. She turned to the front door and changed "Pier Totum Locomoto!"
And just like that, warriors of brick were formed out of the very walls of Hogwarts. They marched towards the entrance to Hogwarts just as the death eaters broke the protective spell.
The death eaters had broken in. The trio stayed close together. Not only were there death eaters, but huge spiders, giants and the like we're also fighting for the dark side.
The battle raged on. It was all a scene of horror.
The trio slayed down the spiders, knocked out the death eaters and did their best to stay alive and to keep everyone from Hogwarts alive.
These two death eaters were fighting a hogwarts student and their curses were rebounding onto a wall. Just then, Draco Malfoy walked past. He used to annoy Harry in the first few years of Hogwarts, yet for the past year, he just seemed worried and scared and confused. Harry didn't bother to talk to him most of the time, he had his own things to do. Yet still, Harry disliked Draco.  The wall was breaking. Just as it was about to fall on Draco, Harry cast a spell, causing the wall to collapse on the other side onto the death eaters.
The Hogwarts student who was fighting ran away to safety. Draco stared at Harry, shocked.
They stared at each other for a minute. Draco gave Harry a weak smile and walked off defiantly.
Many fellow students of Hogwarts were falling and so were the death eaters. McGonagall commanded Hogwarts students to run back inside and stay safe.
The trio lingered at the entrance. Just at that moment, the voice of Voldemort hissed so loud, the whole battlefield and all of Hogwarts was silent.
"Each drop of magical blood is a terrible waste. I command my recruits to retreat. Harry Potter, I now speak directly to you. You have let your friends die for you, there is no greater dishonour. Join me in the dark forest and confront your fate. You have one hour..." Voldemort hissed.
Everything was silent once again.
The trio began to walk into the hall where the wounded were. It was a terrible sight. Many had died. Harry frowned. Perhaps this was his fault.
Ron ran over to his family. Luckily they were all alright. But, Fred was wounded. His arm had been splinched. He was being tended to by Molly.
"We need to kill the snake." Hermione reminded them.
"But how?" Ron said impatiently.
"Where's the hat?" Hermione asked.
"We need the sword to kill the snake." Ron said impatiently just as Ginny came up behind him.
"The sword?" She asked.
Ron nodded.
"I'm sure I saw the Sorting hat somewhere." She said helpfully.
Hermione nodded. Ginny walked away just before she gave a warm look to Harry.
"I'm going to the forest." Harry said plainly.
"What?!" Cried Ron and Hermione in unison.
"I can't let more people die. If I don't meet him in the forest then he will kill more innocent people, and this has to end one way or the other. I have to die." Harry sniffled slightly.
"What do you mean?" asked Hermione.
"Look. There's a reason I can see into his mind. There's a reason I can speak to snakes. I've known for a while, and I think you have to." Harry said.
Ron and Hermione sobbed, understanding what he meant.
"I'll come with you." Volunteered Hermione.
"No. Just kill the snake then it will just be him." Harry said.
He began to walk away from the devastated Ron and Hermione.
Harry entered the dark forest. He was going to confront his fate. He was going to die.
