I sat by the pool while Smurf rushed around the house cleaning up after her boys, everytime I offered her my help she turned it down. This was probably how she processed things, took this as a time to think. That was surfing for me. Which was why it was odd that I wasn't doing anything to process what was currently going on in my life. Almost as if I just accepted this was how things were going to happen from now on. Which was honestly the most bizarre feeling, I've ever felt.

J had messaged me a few times telling me how he had figured out his teacher was pretending to care for him. That when she was asleep he went through her phone and found out exactly what she was after. I told him to stay strong, family first. Though in his shoes this really wasn't much of a family. They still treated him like an outsider, and with Nicky going actually crazy I could really only imagine how he was feeling.

'Going silent, text the second phone.'

Clearly he wasn't giving up the family if he was telling me to text his new phone. The iPhone Smurf got him yesterday, she got us all new phones. Minus me; the less I followed their patterns the less I'd be looked at by anyone on the outside. Which would be better in terms of the money that's about to be stolen.

I watched as Catherine walked through the gate, Lena running towards me giving me a hug. "Hey you!" I smiled at her booping her on the nose, "You are just too cute." I smiled at her as she just giggled.

"Looking for Smurf?" I asked her as she nodded, "You could say that. Have you guys heard from the boys yet?" She smiled, it was in her eyes; she was not here because she wanted to be here. "I haven't heard anything, Smurf if probably the first to get a call." I told her as she let out a sigh.

"She's in the bathroom, she's in a cleaning mode." I told her as she smiled before heading into the house. She was acting even more vacant and distance than she normally did. Which made me feel like something was going on with her.

I walked into the kitchen a short time later to grab a beer as Smurf walked into the kitchen alongside Cath, looking over Lena was sitting at the table playing with something. "Are you baking today?" She asked Smurf as she moved to lean against the counter. Smurf looked over at me as I closed the fridge leaning against it after taking off the time.

"Of course I am. It's tradition. I was going to have Kitty here help me, it's about time she learned to bake something other than pot brownies." She smiled at me. "The boys expect it when they get back."

"I made a Tiramisu once." I shrugged to her as Cath just glared over at me. "It was pretty good."

"God, I hate this part -- the waiting." Catherine told us. Smurf looked over to me as I shrugged. "It's not that bad, I'll start worrying when their late." I told her as Smurf nodded, "Exactly. All we can do it hope that everything is going to plan. No news is good news."

"Smurf look, I know that we don't always see things the same way. I'm not Cat, that much is obvious." I looked over at Cath. "What is that supposed to mean?"
