"Don't you think it's time for a break?" I asked with worry.

"No, I need to-gah- do this," Levi grunted as he tried standing up from his hospital bed. He failed once again as the nurse set him down gently and helped him back under the covers.

Levi was just moved from the ICU yesterday. He was in there for about four days. Now about a week from surgery, his next challenge is standing up. However,

"Shit!" Levi spat as he grabbed a blue plastic bag next to him. He then began to throw up what little substance he had in his stomach. The doctors started him on a liquid nutrient diet that he's tried to drink. But he hasn't been able to for he would throw it up immediately. The doctors then decided to place a feeding tube for the time being until he can actually keep foods down. However, even with the feeding tube that's connected directly to his stomach, his body still refuses.

This is an everyday thing, multiple times a day, a can of liquid nutrients gets put into his body. A half hour later, he pukes it back up. Now the doctors aren't even concerned about his surgery anymore but his weight loss. His ribs and pelves bones stick out like sharp mountains beneath his even paler skin. He's lost too much too fast so his stamina is next to nothing. His cheeks are sunken and his eyes have glossed over, dulling their sparkle. All he needs is to keep food down and he'll start getting better.

However, knowing Levi, he absolutely hates the tube. He's lost all patience and is beginning to lose hope he'll get out of here soon. Every time his bag gets refilled he falls even deeper. He hates the pain of having it in his abdomen and he hates his scars. I don't care about any of that, all I care about is him getting better.

The nurse then moved to his feeding tube bag with the liquid diet. She opened up another can and went to fill up his bag when Levi finally had enough, "I don't want it." he refused.

"Mr. Ackerman, you need to get these nutrients in you or else you can get really sick." The nurse said.

"You listen to patients wishes and my wishes are I don't fucking want it!" He suddenly said.

"Levi she's only helping," I said quietly.

"How Eren? How is this helping?!" He barked as he motioned to the tube coming from his abdomen. "All I do is puke it back up. That's all I've been doing lately, I need a fucking break!"

The nurse puts the mixture down, "I'll come back later." she says politely as she walks out.

Levi closes his eyes and with a sigh, he lays his head back on the pillow.

"Levi, you have to take the supplements, you're losing too much wei-"

"The shit isn't even staying inside me long enough for the nutrients to be fucking absorbed Eren. I'm not planning on starving myself, I just need to take a break from the constant sickness." He explains.

"Does it hurt?" I ask hesitantly.

"Yeah." He says blatantly.

"H-how much?"

Levi looks at me and gives me half a smile, "I'm not telling you."

"What? Why not?" I frantically ask.

"Because you'll get way too worried than you need to. Trust me I'm fine. I've been through worse shit than this." He says and I look at his tattoo. Sadness takes over me and a sniffle escapes as I hang my head low.

Suddenly a hand ruffles my hair. I look up and I'm met with soft eyes and a small smile. He always tries to comfort me even though he's the one in the hospital bed right now.
