(Eren's P.O.V.)
Hanji's father came over with his mechanic friend to drop off the motorcycle. We've been planning it to be a complete surprise for Levi so we are having it brought around back in the parking lot and even had it covered.
"He's gonna be so happy when he sees this." Hanji smiles as her father comes over.
"This is such a great thing you're doing this for Levi. I'm glad he found someone as nice as you. That boy is like a son to me and from what Hanji has told me I can already add you to the family!" He says cheerfully. I thank him and go inside to get Levi.
I enter the apartment and find him in his office chair.
Knock knock
He spins around, "Hey what's up?"
"I need you to come downstairs with me." I say.
He furrows his eyebrows, "Should I be worried?"
"No no no! Just come on!" I say and grab his hands, pulling him out of the seat as he groaned. "Oh hush." I tell him as I drag him downstairs. When we get to the back door I push him out, get behind him and cover his eyes.
"Eren! What are you doing? I don't trust this!" He calls.
"Oh just let it happen and walk straight forward." I order as I walk him to where Hanji and her dad stood, waiting in front of his repaired bike. I stop him a few yards away before nodding to Hanji who then pulled the sheet off. It looks like the accident never happened. I finally remove my hands after mouthing one, two, three.
"SURPRISE" We all yell out and I move around Levi to see his reaction. I expected him to smile, be happy, and be astonished. But. His face was full of confusion.
"W-what is this?" He asked.
"I-it's your...bike. Hanji and I got it repaired... aren't you happy?" I stuttered nervously.
His face did not show an ounce of happiness, "You shouldn't have, get rid of it." He said coldly as he closed his eyes and walked back inside, leaving the three of us in a silent haze.
"...W-wow." Hanji gasped.
I stood in shock but a sniffle made Hanji come up to comfort me.
"There's obviously something going on with him." Her dad says.
"Yeah, he would never be so mean to you for no reason." She comforts.
"I'm gonna go talk to him." I say and head upstairs. I enter and find him in his office again, standing at his desk for the chair was toppled over on the other side of the room. He had his hands on the desk pulled into fists.
"...Levi?" I call quietly.
He takes a deep breath, "Yeah?"
"I'm sorry if I didn't make the bike the same as it was. I could only find a few pictures for the mechanic, so it took a little longer than expected. But we can bri-"
"Eren, what are you talking about? I'm not mad at you, I know you meant well. No words can tell you how much I appreciate this it's just..." He paused. "That bike it was destroyed."
"I know I just thought it would be better if it was the same parts."
"No, it's me, not the bike Eren." He says as he turns around. "You don't get it I used to drive around not a care in the world, thinking nothing bad could happen. But things do, and I don't want anything to happen to you. I keep thinking, what if you were on the back that day? What if you were the one who got hurt? I couldn't live with myself. I don't want anything to do with that anymore!" His voice raises.
