(Eren's P.O.V.)
(A couple days later)
The doctors decided that it was time for Levi to try to eat food. Because the amount he's been getting sick has fallen significantly, today was that day.
"Mr. Ackerman, this is kind of like the liquid diet you've been taking but it tastes better for sure." The doctor said as he showed Levi what he'll be starting off on. It looked like some sort of oatmeal. After finally getting a reluctant Levi to give it a try, Levi ate for the first time since the surgery. He grimaced at the taste but he forced the minuscule bites down.
After about another day and a half of throwing it back up, suddenly, it stopped. Levi was finally able to keep food down. His stomach was healed from surgery and the feeding tube was finally removed. I can tell you that Levi was more happy about the tube being removed than his ability to eat. After being torn down over and over, things were finally looking up.
(A few days later)
"Here's the last of your stuff," I said as I placed a box in Erwin's arms.
Hanji, and I decided to help Erwin get the last of his things like shoes and other personal effects.
"I'll take it down for you." A voice called from the doorway. The man Erwin was seeing stood there, he had short dark hair and was a little taller than me. We had a chat earlier where he apologized, he said he wanted to wait until Erwin left Levi but things just happened. Ironic. Let's just say we shared a laugh at ourselves. He's nice and I hope Erwin is happy with him.
"Thanks, Nile." Erwin said as he handed the box to him. This was sort of an awkward situation. Beyond the obvious circumstances of me and Levi, I was the one who kinda caught them together in an.... inconvenient time.
Nile left and Erwin faced me. "Tell Levi something for me?"
I nodded and listened to Erwin speak with a serious tone, "Tell him the past will catch up. He must not run."
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. Where did that come from?
"He'll know what I mean." He said.
I agree to tell him the next time I visit him. With that sort of concerning statement Hanji and I say goodbye to Erwin and he walks out of the apartment.
*Sigh* "C'mon I gotta show you something" Hanji sighed and we went over to our place. She had me sit down at the table as she scrolled through her phone. She apparently found what she was looking for and select the phone so I can see. I see a picture from what I'm guessing a junkyard, and in that junkyard sat a very sad sight. Levi's motorcycle was completely destroyed to the point I almost didn't recognize it at first. The side it was struck on was just a warped metal mess and the front of the bike wasn't even attached.
"Oh my god..." I mumble.
"Apparently the insurance won't pay to replace his bike, granted he won't be riding anytime soon," Hanji said seeming down.
A silence fills the room as I get a message. It's from Armin saying he'll be here soon.
Armin is on his way to hang out at the apartment and also to visit Levi. It's been a while since I've seen him and honestly, I've missed him. I've been trying so hard to be the strong one for Levi during his recovery, or is it for myself? Was I trying to be a support for Levi or am I forcing myself to repress everything so I don't have to deal with the pain? I don't know.
"Hanji?" I ask and she hums in response. "What do you think Erwin meant by what he said?"
She freezes and ponders for a few moments. "I'm not really too sure, it's probably just advice." It seems like she had an idea but was reluctant to go into detail.
